"After two visits to La Wafrenetica and eating four different waffles, there are so many delicious words to describe their culinary offerings. The vegetarian waffle ("Ay Jalisco, no te rajes!") was my first foray into the menu. It has poblano pepper, corn and panela, all sandwiched between two, square waffles. Today, I enjoyed the chicken breast waffle ("Changuich a la Chichona"). It is my new favorite savory waffle! The chicken breast was tender and flavored exquisitely with curry. Spinach, avocado and sprouts perfectly complemented the savory chicken.But really, waffles for me is all about the sweet! La wafrenetica has a variety of options. I've eaten both the caramel apple waffle (La Manzanita) and the red velvet cake waffle with bananas ("Banana si, banana no"). The caramel apple waffle is as delicate as sponge cake with juicy apples and just the right amount of cinnamon. The red velvet cake waffle, though, takes the cake. Red, decadent cake-like waffle layered in bananas and smothered in caramel. A delicious way to end the meal!"

"La Antigua Waffles is a great concept in a great location, the newly renovated Mercado Juárez, and serves good food at a good price. So, why only Average ? We went there for a family brunch, all very hungry and ready to eat. The place was...busy, a good sign, so we were not unhappy to wait 20 minutes to get a table. OK, that 's cool. It took a long time to get an order made, and all was good until only 2 of 4 entres arrived, and then nothing. As luck would have it, the two hungriest got no food for another half an hour, and then the wrong thing arrived, double what my wife and I ordered. We joked that our dessert waffle would arrive before our sons ' breakfast and it did. We kept pestering the wait staff and they finally brought their 2 breakfasts about an hour after we arrived at our table. Then to top off the confusion, they doubled part of their order and then 10 minutes later, brought yet another waffle. So, food is good, but bizarre service and looks to me, problems with lack of training on wait staff. Now, there is also an outlet of the same restaurant behind the corner tucked in behind the Mercado Juárez that serves the same menu and may well be better organized. We will try this one next time."

"Llegamos temprano para poder conseguir mesa y aun así tardamos como 1 hora en poder conseguirla en un rincón donde ningún mesero te ve, al ver lo complicado que puede resultar comer aquí tus expectativas terminan siendo altas para lo que realmente es, pedimos unas gyozas que si fueron de mi agrado y un ramen, este era demasiado grasoso y saladisimo al grado que era incomible, he probado ramen en otros lugares de gdl y el de peko peko no cumplió con mis expectativas. Evita ir en mayo, su ventilación es bastante pobre y hace un calor infernal en su local."

"La semana pasada fui a celebrar mi cumpleaños y eramos alrededor de 12 personas mas un bebe, la encargada no queria proporcionarnos otra mesa, apesar de que ya estabamos apretados, con la excusa de "no se llenan y yo la necesito para otros", apesar de que ya estabamos muy apretados y pedimos otra mesa no la negaron. La tomamos puesto que ya no cabiamos y la encargada se puso furiosa, no nos dijo nada pero se noto. Apesar de que todas las mesas estaban ocupadas y no habia espacio desperdiciado. Lo mismo ocurrio con la periquera que pedi, tardaron años en llevarla y cuando la llevaron no sabian donde ponerla para que no les quitara espacio, el niño tambien consumio en el local!!. La comida excelente como siempre, pero el servicio pesimo."
