"This place has been my go-to Indian restaurant in Upper Hutt since I moved here. I always ordered takeaways but decided to dine in this time. Ordered prawn masala like usual but received saag instead. Told the lady it wasn't what I ordered, but she was quite insistent that I was wrong and she was right. It was embarrassing and disappointing experience."

"Most dishes have a vegetable option and they can make the noodles and curry dishes vegan. The vegan green curry is rich and delicious, but the vegan yellow noodle is a bit bland. Many rooms in the dining area for groups. The price is decent (can be a bit high) and you will not wait more than 10 minutes for your meal. 3.5 stars. Updated from previous review on 2017-09-26"

"Cool to have an Indian Restaurant with a point of difference in Upper Hutt. Only a few years ago we had one Indian restaurant. Now the Upper Hutt City area has 10 and huge competition with many excellent food options and top service! Add to this fair prices. Ammu is focused on South Indian with Sea Food delicacies and good alcohol options."

"Great to see the re opening of an awesome local Thai restaurant. Delicious meal great service and wonderful staff. BYO beer wine only no on licence. The bubble teas are amazingly refreshing. Pictures: Bubble teas Roti peanut sauce Chicken nibbles Stir fried beef chilli with onion Yellow Thai curry All absolutely delicious and the mains served with individual servings of rice. Look forward to more visits here"

"This is a very ordinary curry. Lacks l flavour and complexity. I had the Vindaloo, it had a total lack of flavour. My wife Tika Masala, it was the worst she has had. There is always enough with takeaway curry for a second meal, we will be throwing out the left overs. They even forgot part of the order"
