"The green curry was certainly extra hot and contained plenty of chicken, aubergines and peppers. The rice was a generous serving unlike the usual Thai restaurants – we could have shared it between us and next time we’ll order an extra vegetable dish instead. The squid and chive dish was delicious, heavily-infused with the flavour of roast garlic."

"A few weeks ago I ordered the food from this restaurant for the first time. I was happy with eating, nicely cooked, delicious and reasonable price. delivery lasted about half an hour (i am local) . plus they have added kartoffel side dish for me for free, that was a nice bonus : will be reordered by them"

"Have been going here for years with my family or ordering takeaway... It is the best curry in chingford, however tonight we left without eating because it has gone down hill... Only 2 waiters and all they cared about is the christmas party. Waited 30 mins to order drinks and they even asked us if we wanted popodoms before hand... what resturant asks for starters before drinks... 40mins later after asking 3 times can we order and them telling us to wait we left... We will be back but hopefully they hire some more staff!"

"I feel like I'm still waiting for my food.... Was going to an event at so me and three friends went to Maamalas at for a meal. After ordering drinks, we were expecting a few starters and popadoms to be offered. We had...to ask for popadoms half an hour after ordering our food. We thought maybe it was an oversight and didn’t think much of it. It then became apparent, this is how it is done at Maamalas. Our starters came around an *hour* after we ordered them, and our meal came at around half Our meals not only came ridiculously late, but in drips and drabs. We ordered three curry dishes, one portion of rice, and three different naan breads. This came to the table over the course of about minutes, meaning that after an hour and a half wait, our food got to us with parts of it cold. The entire experience was sour, and made even worse by really appalling customer service. During the hour and a half wait, no staff came to apologise for the wait. Not acknoewlodegdment at all. When we'd finished our meal, we complained to the man seeming to be running the shop. Not only was he unapologetic for the service and the half-cold food, not to mention the m wait, but when we said we wouldn't pay for the meal in full, he started arguing. The entire ordeal finished with us offering to pay for the drinks. We eventually stormed out without paying, as did other customers throughout the long wait. I certainly won’t be going back there anytime soon! You simply can’t run a restaurant like that."

"Really good and fresh eating with fresh seasoning had a chicken jalferazi would recommend it despite all, to try it, also they run special offer 25% of the order over £20 for the collection or 15% on delivery. I have the delivery on time and the delivery driver was very politely happy with all the service"

"Best Indian restaurant in the area. Good food regardless of if you are dining in or ordering takeaway. A tad more expensive than the competition but I'd say it's worth it. The signature Special Chicken Jalfrezi is the stand out choice for me. Everyone I know who has eaten here highly rates this restaurant."

"This family run curry café and kebab shop has a few tables and really really is worth a visit! Having lived in East London all my life I know just about every type of curry, originating from each and every corner of the globe and this place is fab! It is Pakistani, I am told but unlike the grills and pakoras Aqsa seems to specialise in more slowly cooked curries, family recipes. It's unlicensed and halal and I like the way their traditions are respected. They cook really tasty food and fresh dishes are prepared daily. Last time I had crisp onion and potato bhajis with salad to start and then Lamb curry, black chick pea curry and nan freshly baked to order in the tandoor. Even with a side veggie dish, bhindi I think and Keera (semolina) pudding and a drink the whole bill came to about a tenner! £10. That's 3 courses! Plus a drink! If you live nearby please go there and support this small family business. Say Peter, the psychotherapist, sent you and they will laugh and , who knows, maybe even give you a little extra! It I go there once a week for home-cooked traditiuon Pakistani dishes"
