"Return from vacation. Shortly in front of home we always like to enter the old customs house. However, we were there for family celebrations, so that this report, apart from yesterday's visit, also includes previous experiences. The restaurant is located directly on the B 214 between Braunschweig and Celle. There is a small beer garden; However, the traffic noise is quite loud, although the view of the B 214 is also insulated by viewing walls. Inside old German, some pictures of old-brown pasture on the wall, in the rear part an image with gusting deer and grazing on the wall. Still not cheesy. The menu has an extensive selection of carvings, salads and small items. Seasonally there are asparagus and brown cabbage dishes (in the rest of the Republic it is called green cabbage, but we are now in the Braunschweiger Land). It is freshly cooked. Saucen and dressings are homemade, the Jägerschnitzel is served with fresh mushrooms. Yesterday there was the curry sausage for me. Delicious sauce, picant, but not too sharp. The pommes to the point (o.k., a bit high for these parts). The wife had served salad with turkey strips, dressing very well and also extra so that it could be added as desired. Add vinegar and oil extra on the table and salt and pepper from the mill. In addition to the native Wolters beer (lecker), there is still Ayinger Hell Dark from the barrel (for me winter beer, because rather sweet). A small wine card with Palatinate wines directly from a small wine-growing farm completes the whole. Note: On Sundays the card is limited, as there are some Sunday menus. Friendly service. For the friend of the fresh German cuisine a recommended inn."
