"The first time I went to Tobang, I left a somewhat scathing review simply because I was chased down by staff for a tip (I’m a college student). I ended up coming back out to Tobang a couple more times and I should update my response: Tobang is a Korean BBQ (KBBQ) location in Santa Clara that features meals in sets, optimal for parties of 3-4 people. There’s a reason the restaurant is typically bustling: the food is of quality and there tends to be a lot of extra small dishes that are on the house. I typically get combo A, which features (I want to say) bulgogi, seafood pancake, and anotherm meat of choice (I typically choose kalbi). This came with the traditional korean spread of all those cute little side dishes: sometimes I got japchae, beansprouts, almond jelly, kimchi, sweet fishcakes, potatoes, rice paper, pickled radish, the weird but delicious crunchy stuff and others. The last time I went with friends, we got tteokbokki on the house, as well as corn cheese. Every meal is served with three dipping sauces (sesame oil, gochujang, and fish sauce) as well as water. K pop is usually blasting on the speakers. It is such a bustling ambiance. The staff is like the eomma you would imagine: very efficient, great at service, a bit hard but very kind. I would eat here again. It is just a bit cramped at times."

"Had the Option B “All you can eat” for the family, plenty of good quality meat to try from. Did not like the short rib patty very much but the Brisket, fatty beef and miso pork belly were all very delicious. Dipping sauce was very good too. Highly recommend this place. "Good experience overall and a classic spot. Stick to the classic meats for grilling and don't waste your money on the seafood. Tuna tasted frozen and fishy and was overcooked, lobster was tough and scallops were like bullets and definitely not fresh. Spicy pork belly is tasty, but not so spicy, more on the sweet side. They should consider offering more bonchon to make the experience better."

"Must try if you're a Korean food (especially kbbq) lover! Out of the many Korean restaurants I've been to around the metro detroit area, this is easily one of my top picks. Loved all of their banchan and service was excellent. We came in around 830pm and ended up staying a little past 10 to finish our food (grilling all the meat took some time), which is their close time. We felt so bad but they were so friendly and understanding about it. Ordered combo C with 2 orders of the dinner special: galbi soondubu and galbi naengmyun. We also switched out the shrimp from combo c for samgyupsal. This was a very generous amount for a party of 6. Their galbi marinade was on point and their salad perfectly balanced out the grease we got so many extra orders of it bc it was so good! Another plus is that they have a spacious parking lot so parking will most likely not be a problem at all."

"This place is amazing, food kept coming at you and everything smelled so good and tasted incredible. Such a wide variety of sides and flavors, definitely worth the price. I went on a super cold day with friends and it was a nice cozy place to eat. Staff was very friendly as well, I would eat here every day if I could."
