"I came here with high hopes for the Muffuletta and left disappointed. I’ve been to New Orleans over a dozen times, so I’m familiar with the cuisine low to high end and have been to Central Grocery to experience this sandwich a few times. When the sandwich first arrived I thought it was a panini with how flat it was. Nevertheless I was pleasantly surprised on how much meat there was but what set this sandwich back from 5 to 3 was the lack of Italian olive salad (see picture). This is what makes this sandwich rock and I’m not quite sure why the small amount, maybe the cook was having a bad day. Also, I noticed the gal next to me had a shrimp Po Boy that looked like half of what you would receive in New Orleans so don’t expect your typical southern portions here. I am going to give this place another shot and hopefully I will have a better experience because I love this type of food."
