"If you ever wonder who the "Grandma" actually is, come to any of their two branches to find out. The Grandma's offers home style cooking using some of the raw ingredients from their own farm. The restaurant also emphasizes health eating like low salt diet and they only use olive oil for their dishes. <br>

The Grandma's at McEvoy has a very spacious and friendly ambient surrounded by lots of greens. The place is not just a restaurant but also a bakery and sometimes a catering kitchen. <br>

You may find customers from young couples to a big group of families. A kids corner is much needed to let the kids let loose and the adults to have a better ease of mind. <br>

Apart from dining in, surprisingly there is a wide range of products for take away including the baked goods, sauce and jams, packaged meals, frozen pita bread, soup, olive oils of course, and so much more! Their housemade desserts can also be found in the fridge to fix your sweet tooth! <br>

Being a total hummus obsess recently, I have been trying to find the best hummus in Sydney. Grandma is from Egypt which makes me even more anticipated with her version of Jerusalam Hummus. Turned out it's thick, creamy, dense, just the way I prefer it. <br>

The delicious chickpea paste is beautifully complimented with the minced beef and it is served with Grandma’s bread and a bit of spicy tahini. The fluffy light pita bread is the never wrong with the rich hummus and tihini. A mix of health on a plate is what it is. <br>

Open Fired Eggplant Shakshuka $18.90<br>

Grandma's promotes a lot of vegetarian dishes and shakshuka is one of their popular dishes. A skillet of baked eggs cooked in a sauce made of open fired eggplant and tomatoes served with Labane' cheese dressing. I liked that it is not too salty and the taste of fresh sweet and sour tomato is quite prominent with the subtle mint of eggplant taste. The oozing egg and sauce bonded everything together. <br>

Don't miss out on their yellowish housemade bread because turmeric has been added to it and it is crunchy from the toasted sesame on the outside and fluffy on the inside.<br>

The hummus that is served on the side is slightly different from the hummus dish because it is even thicker with a strong smokey aroma. Yeh, it's all about scrapping at Grandma's. <br>

Hazelnut Cream Mud Cake<br>

Though they ran out of their infamous Vocano chocolate lava cakes, there are still lots of great options from the fridge and we have picked this hazelnut cake. The layered cake has a good balance from the chocolate cake, thick hazelnut cream, then topped with crunchy hazelnut on top. It's almost like a healthier option to Nutella, but in a constructed form. Indulging and great for sharing, or just have it all by yourself! <br>
