"Visited here on Sunday with the family for lunch have to say wasn't disappointed the food was fantastic and obviously freshly cooked enjoyed by all. They only thing I would say is that I didn't know what wine to order as couldn't see any on display as came in to the bar/restaurant but minor thing . Will defiantly be returning well done and keep up the good work ."

"Fantastic! We had our Christmas dinner here on Christmas Day. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lovely. The staff are amazing, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The traditional Christmas dinner was excellent . I had monk fish which was cooked to perfection....The portion sizes were very generous . This is a gem of a restaurant and I can’t recommend it highly enough.Thank you for making our Christmas dinner so enjoyable"

"Has taken the family to Christmas dinner and it was amazing! the goat cheese star was for to die, and the grilled cocktails that my gad and gran had very well fallen. dad and I had bark meat wellington and gran had the turkey dinner, the wellington was amazing, all handmade with a delicious pate between the baked and the melt in mouth bark, and gran was acidified with the truthahn and the fact that it can be moist and as delicious as many places it can be dry. the whole veg was succulent and al dente, cooked to perfection! we were all disserted, but the cheese table and cream glasses could not be missed. the waitress asked kindly whether we would rather take the cheese home. the personal was attentive, but not swaying, eating was fast, but we never felt rushed. in all this was a wonderful Christmas experience, I have eaten here and want to love this place again!"

"We went out for a drive looking for a nice place to have Sunday lunch, we drove by and saw the Sunday lunch carvery sign so decided to pop in on the off chance they may have a table. We were warmly welcomed and given...a table immediately, they explained how their carvery system worked. We had the works all four meats , food was beautiful , piping hot and plenty of it. It was only after we had eaten that while talking to the manager she said that the Sunday we visited 11/11/2016 was their first Sunday as they had only just taken over. You would not have known as service was extremely efficient , everything was organised we were impressed and will definitely be going back."

"We call quite regularly for breakfast which is basic but good. Beans or scrambled egg on toast. The brown bread is delicious. Nice, friendly staff and nice décor. Lovely selection of cakes so our next visit may well be afternoon tea. The café has a lovely feel about it comfortable and welcoming with the added advantage of supporting a local charity."

"Luckily we have this lovely place very local to us and we visit at least once a month. We took mum's and grandma's for mothers day so there were 12 of us in total. On arrival all the mum's were given a beautiful orchid in a box which was a lovely touch. The place was decorated with purple tulips and balloons. We pre ordered the food but forgot what we had ordered and our locely attentive waitresses Claire brought a copy to look at. We had two oaps who they allowed to have childrens meals which is good as adult meals would have been wasted on them. The food as always was beautiful and we all agreed it was the best Sunday dinner we have ever had out. My family came from gunthorpe in Nottingham and have asked me to book for Easter Sunday as they want to come again. Extra veg and gravy was provided and even a special dessert that is there speciality that wasn't on the pre order menu but was brought out on request. Such a friendly attentive waitress called Claire but all of the staff couldn't help enough. Highly recommended"

"First visit to Van Dyks and the setting is lovely, modern but classic and felt a great place for an evening meal. As a first time visit we weren’t clear where to go once we had entered, it was only when someone came over we knew which direction to head to the orangery. The food was good, my parents shared a Chateaubriand steak which they commented wasn’t the best they’d had for the price as it was on the chewy side but was still nice. I had the classic burger and added bacon which was really tasty. We opted for deserts too which were all nice. The service was reasonably good, I couldn’t recall the servers name but he must have been new as whenever he cleared glasses we weren’t asked if we wanted more drinks or anything else they were just taken. The blonde guy that served us sometimes was far more attentive. Overall we had really high hopes based on the appearance and it was definitely very good food just didn’t quite meet expectations for the price but we would return."
