"Smooth 5 stars without If and But. The inn is housed in the old school house Bornheim, that is the name of Wilhelm Busch. The staff is very competent and very friendly. In the garden at the well, see photos, sit comfortably under the large market umbrellas. There are beautiful Wilhelm-Busch motifs everywhere as sculptures, so the teacher Lämpel as well as the widow Bolte or Max and Moritz.” As an appetizer I can recommend the Scampi cream soup on € 7. Delicious! The main food changes again and again. I had the river zander on leaf spinach with noodles to € 21. Very delicious. The main choice is limited, so it is to be asked in advance. Steak is available in many variants, and these can also be really good at acceptable prices in very, very beautiful ambience. Actually I didn't want a dessert, but that was all so delicious and the evening was so successful that I had the card come back: it was then the dessert plate in the way of the house with everything to € 12. A poem. No credit cards, only cash or payment of the invoice you are handed out by transfer from home. These are all very relaxed – you know each other in Bornheim."

"At the beginning of this year I had invited old friends to this restaurant, which is located in a beautiful location on the Rhine directly north of Bonn and overlooks the river and its islands. I had not visited for a few years, but was previously regularly a guest when it was a popular destination for lunch and dinner with its traditional but comfortable premises and its excellent menu with a variety of dishes. So it was with great disappointment that I found the cozy quiet rooms that were converted into a very large and impersonal dining hall, where the lack of furniture and the low ceiling made for so high noise level that conversation was quite difficult. The selection of dishes was very limited, although the steak we chose was well and perfectly prepared. The desert menu was completely forgotten, so we did not stay longer than necessary rather a sad result, which should have been a cozy and pleasant lunch experience. I should add that there were no facilities for the disabled. The restaurant could only leave the building (steps) and the way down to the nearby hotel building, which a waiter had to unlock for us, all that makes it mild is not helpful."
