"We booked early and although the restaurant was almost empty the service although charming) was slow. When we wanted a quick lunch, we ordered sandwiches - my friend had a steak sandwich £10) and I had a club sandwich £11). Both were on thick cut sourdough, which was very difficult to cut/cut. My club sandwich was described on the menu as a chicken, egg, salad and bacon, but the egg was thrown and cold, no bacon, but ham, and the salad was tired and limp, so it was tasteless and boring. My friend's sandwich was also subdued with cold steak and sour wort. On the plus side our chips were good! We had both good food at previous visits, and really like the ambience, so it was a shame to find the food so disappointing."

"Can not recommend the Norfolk-Lörcher enough. family meal for a birthday. of us as a whole and each of us was very impressed. eating was amazing. the waiting staff was so friendly and attentive. we couldn't blame. wants to be forever...out they go from now on to place"

"Had an unplanned lunch here today. Great views from the outside tables and the food was really good. We had a chicken burger and a pork, apple brie burger. Could have easily stayed here all afternoon. Good food, lovely locations and friendly staff. An excellent combination"

"You would think a 4 star hotel would do a good range of food. The menu is very limited, no real cooking involved, burgers pasta etc And when it does arrive it is of very poor quality. Complaints are not dealt with in a professional manner, if you don 't like what we do, tough"

"Had Sunday lunch here. An idyllic setting, very English with a village green and even a small brass ensemble to accompany our fine lunch and quality ales! All served in an easy going manner by pleasant and helpful staff. Very good."

"Friendly staff, the curries were tasty, and there's a spacious eating area outside away from the passing traffic. All good so far. What let this pub down for me, was their choice of non alcoholic beers Beck's Blue. Come on, have you tried it!...Not very good and no proper decaffeinated coffee either."

"Met by a sign saying ‘No Cash Payment’ another saying ‘Wait to be seated’ but no one approached us, so as we had booked, we had to ask at the bar. My flatbread was hard inedible, no presentation. The whole place needs a refurb, sticky tables, worn seating, toilets disgusting etc. Table service just ok, not friendly, so won’t be back."

"Ordered Mains, Starters , Drinks... Samantha was great and attentive.... and thats where it ended. Message sent to the kitchen and Server also went through and told the kitchen to Not Hold on the mains. 25mins for 2 x Cheesey Flatbreads, 2 x FOH walked...past checking ample times, could see they were finished but still didn't clear the table. 48mins after ordering the mains arrived... no offer of sauces of condiments, just placed on the table. The Haddock was shocking... the batter was undercooked and the fish not completely covered so had dried out. Approached a team member and explained the issues a replacement was to be done. Dave the GM advised it would be done ASAP 15mins later it arrived, and an offer of complimentary desserts etc. The fish again was not to standard, the Fryer hadnt been skimmed and had 8shades of batter scraps stuck it , including black bits of batter, the Batter covering the fish was not crisp and was clearly too thick and needed more soda adding to it, as it was cakey and the oil could be squeezed out of it. NO CHECKBACK WAS DONE FOLLOWING THIS. Although 4 FOH staff were loitering clearing adjacent tables and looking over. The fish was cleared and no comment made by the serving staff although I said it wasnt any better the 2nd time round. The staff all the disappeared not to be seen. We then paid for our desserts as the Complimentary offer wasn't noted and the staff were unaware. Dave then gave us a box of chocolates and refunded the meal. Whitbread have clearly let the standards drop, what happened to the WoWs? And service excellence? Disappointing to say the least, not one to leave negative reviews, but giving the venue chances to put things right and still not do it, 2hr experience, and left unfed. Golden Rule; Always ensure the Guest leaves happy , Customer journey on this occasion... quickest exit possibile."
