"This buron is located in one of the most beautiful, yet less traveled valleys of Auvergne, the Vallee de Chaudefourd. The free-standing house in the woods has a large terrace and the dining room inside is very charming and authentic. One advantage of this restaurant over other burons is that it offers a very extensive menu. Everything we tried was great and home-made (only the ice cream is store-bought) but they also have home-made dessert, such as fruit tarte and crème brulee. A special note to say that they serve the BEST Confit de Canard EVER (all home-made by Madame from scratch), served with truffade to-die-for (very good fries are optional for a "lighter" alternative). The entrecote is in itself worth the trip - well grilled to remain juicy and tender. All portions are very generous, and we found prices to be very reasonable for the quantity and quality. A good selection of local wines is available but other regions are well-represented for those who think - like me - that Auvergne is not best know for its wines.We went for dinner the first night for a group of 9 people, and returned 3 days later for another great dinner. Madame is in the kitchen, Monsieur works the dining room: a winning combination worth a very scenic detour!"

"Varied cuisine at reasonable prices, ranging from Auvergnatian specialities to pizza with auvergnat products. a good part of the card is made house visibly. the apartment is the service, everything turns for pizza, much less for the kitchen. waiting and disappointed for children, who waited for more than 15 minutes for their dishes, then dessert, finally not taken in the hotel, after 30 minutes waiting for the dessert card, we were very embarrassed to leave. the staff is very nice, helpful, but seems to be outdated when it is full, too many blankets perhaps, not much, it is a shame because the food is good, copyy, and quality for what we have seen."

"Nous sommes arrivés par hasard dans ce petit restaurant sans prétention a priori, mais l'accueil chaleureux du patron nous a tout de suite fait bonne impression. Service rapide et souriant, particulièrement avec les enfants, de bons petits plats de pays et une viande Salers excellente ! Les prix sont très corrects et les plats bien servis. Le plus : mousse au chocolat et langues de chat maison dans le menu des enfants. Nous avons apprécié l'effort de proposer autre chose que l'éternel jambon-frites pour les petits, qui ont aussi le droit de bien manger !"

"Le restaurant se fait discret car on détecte avant tout la devanture de l hôtel.Malgré une carte courte , nous nous sommes laissé tenter car elle sortait des classiques truffades, fondue et assiette charcutière.Nous n avons pas été déçus.Les joues de porc, les côtelettes d agneau et la tartine sardine étaient parfaitement cuisinés.Service et cuisine par une sympathique famille alsacienne.A découvrir."
