"I ordered a few things to be delivered to my Grandma in Courtenay and I can't express how grateful I am to the team at Hot Chocolates. Everything was wonderful I ordered a sour dough bread, pecan bars, and a box of sea salt caramels (my grandma loves caramel) and she loved everything she received. Thank you Hot Chocolates for adding some warmth into her life."

"With my friend deciding on where to lunch we finally settled on thisCafé. we had passed it on more than one occasion previously, sort of put off by the two tables in the window, not realizing there was a larger space further in.Greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a friendly young lady, That's a plus for me.They had a delicious selection of goodies in the front display, including 3 choices of individual Quiches, and a couple of choices of salads, including tasty looking sandwiches, wish I could have sampled all of it.Three choices of soups, we settled on their onion soup and beet salad.Enjoyed the small baguettes with cheese floating on top, and no awful clumps of melted cheese in the soup, which was very tasty, could have done with a small amount of dressing on the beet and rice salad, but it was tasty and a very generous portion., had to take some home.We shared the New York Cheese cake, baked on the premises, very good. This is a café we will definatly visit again, and the coffee is also well made and fresh."

"This was our first visit to Courtenay, but it won't be our last. I'm looking forward to the next visit. If you are vegan, they have several options for food and drinks. The staff was friendly and answered our questions, offers suggestions. Service was... fast. The food was delicious! I had the Glory Bowl and my husband had the Mexican (chili) bowl and a oatlatte. Everything was full of taste and the coffee was great. How refreshing to find a place with many options for vegans. But you don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to eat here. Look at it! See you there."

"I made an order to pick up. The sweet and sour pork was dry and inedible. The Chinese beef and greens had no greens, only the white part of the bok choy and was incredibly bland. When I called to complain, all I received was a bunch of excuses. If I had been eating at the restaurant and I received this food, I would have send it back. I wanted my money back but apparently that is not happening. It's too bad, since they used to have decent Chinese food, but I will never be ordering from them again"

"We were a party of 4 adults and 1 child (seven years old). Our child loved the chicken strips and fries. I had a veggie burger which was homemade and good. Our server was so so and that's why I give it an average rating. We will try it again. I don't think you can judge by one experience."

"Been here twice and for a reason. I know it’s more of a upscale restaurant so I expected it to be more on the expensive side, and no surprise it was. The decor was fabulous and would be great for a business meal but the waitress I had (both times) was almost rushing us. I felt that was rude.. but the meal was great!! The steak was well cooked just the way I liked (medium rare) and the salad had a odd flavour but was really good!"
