"We turned up mid afternoon on a Saturday. We stood by the sign ‘Please wait to be seated’ The place was about 1/3rd full so not really busy. There were a lot of staff standing around chatting to each other and occasionally attending to a customer. We we waited and waited in fact over 15 minutes before some chap bothered to come up to us by which time my partner said they don’t deserve our money or business let’s go. I spoke to the member of staff and told him how poor it is and how I’m not going to spend my money with you people when you cannot be bothered to show that you want me as a customer and they couldn’t care less. Funny how this branch has today been identified for closure and good job too the staff don’t deserve to work in hospitality because they have no customer skills and couldn’t care less and long as they get paid we’ll no more because you’re out of a job and good riddance I say."

"We had two mesls there a few days ago, the stesknpie was delicious we both enjoyed the meal. I ha one of the best bakewell rart deserts I have ever eaten. We visit quite frequently so always enjoy our meals there. Prices are quite hood and the staff are really helpful and friendly."

"We was sitting around a table, a group of girls catching up. Was so shocked to be told by the bar maid to be quiet. We ate our food and decided to leave as we was so disappointed in this behaviour. The landlord asked what was wrong we told him what happened , he said ' if you want to be loud go to dartford centre ' at this point we was now really upset, another friend said this isn 't how you should speak to customers, he claimed we had told his bar maid to shut up but it was the other way round. Now at this point he 's shouting at my friend and this lady im assuming the land lady came over, grabbed my friends arm and said 'get out my f ing pub. My friend was so upset especially with this current covid situation that she had assaulted her, let alone touch her. The food was lovely cannot fault that, but to be told to be quiet in a pub is ridiculous bare in mind at the point we was told to be quiet we was taking selfies."

"Having been to this nice pub many time over the years, I took some friends for Sunday Lunch. I've enjoyed all visits before and the food and service has been good! We ordered drinks, a starter of bread and our mains. We noticed how unbearably hot it was. Neighbouring tables were also commenting. I asked our waiter if the air con could be turned on. He also agreed it was hot and said he'd look into it. After 15 mins or so it was still very warm and I asked if we could move tables. Our waiter said there were no free tables but he managed to crack a window for us, much to the delight of our table and those around us. About 30 mins into sitting and after our starter... our waiter asked as if we'd like dessert. I mentioned that our mains had not arrived. He apologised and said he'd chase up. The apologising and chasing up happened for another 40 mins... with our mains arriving over an hour after we ordered. We were offered free drinks as an apology but refused as none of us wanted needed any more alcohol. The food was great and well received after waiting so long! When the bill arrived we mentioned we would not be paying the service charge due the exceptional wait time. This was when our friendly waiter stopped being friendly. Grumpily went off and got an updated receipt. Was curt and deliberately not friendly anymore. Although the wait was not his fault... we should not be expected to pay for poor service waiting 70 mins for food is not acceptable in any restaurant. Asking for our dessert orders without realising we were still awaiting mains was poor. I rarely quibble when paying service charge but was taken aback that his attitude turned. I would hesitate in returning as we really felt part of a cog... pleasant enough but not really caring about our experience and certainly not caring about how long we had to wait."
