"Especially during the non-winter months, there are not many restaurants in Filisur to pick from. The day that we arrived, both the restaurants in Hotel Grischuna and Schontal were closed, so we did not have too much choice. Perhaps for this reason Hotel Ratia was...packed for dinner and contributed to a great local and bustling atmosphere. I must say that the pasta we ordered (spaghetti diablo spicy spaghetti with salami) was cooked to perfection, possibly even better than some of the pasta we've had in Italy. We also had pizza, which was good but not excellent surprisingly it was the pasta that stood out. Highly recommended."

"There is a lot of hiking in the region and we hiked from our home in Wiesen-Davos to this restaurant. It's about a 2 hour hike and we were hungry. It was a beautiful day and warm enough to sit outside. We had salads for lunch, quite delicious. It's right next to the train station and we went back home on the train."

"We visited Filisur in order to see the famous Landwasser Viaduct while en route to points south. We weren't expecting a village with such charm while being an ideal base for visiting the exceptionally beautiful Parc Ela, the 600 square km nature park which surrounds Filisur and other municipalities. Our itinerary was already planned with Filisur simply being a stopover for lunch. That was a mistake. Next visit, we will spend time in Filisur and, judging from our outstanding lunch at the Hotel Schontal, this will be our hotel of choice.We were completely taken by the hotel's beautiful restaurant the moment we stepped in. The staff greeted us warmly, and after being seated, the chef came to our table and explained the menu in detail. Our meal was truly exceptional. The interior of the restaurant is perfectly arranged down to every detail, which is very telling about the care which the owners have taken in making this such a beautiful property. Our only regret is that we didn't have more time to linger. The Glacier Express would soon be transiting the viaduct and we had to be on our way."
