"I will be straight forward with this. Having spent many years in Peru I was very but very disappointed of this restaurant. I was actually looking forward to try this place but as soon as you come in the place feels cold and kind of ''they put whatever they found'' in a place just to make it happen. Now, the pisco sour was Ok...very little pisco in it...shame for the price of 7.90EUR. We asked for starter some yucas which they never brought to us and they went straight to the main course. Lomo saltado and the famous Aji de gallina...it was the worst two dishes I have ever tried inside and outside Peru. It was an insult to peruvian cuisine. I was so angry that I had to ask the waiter if the cheffs were peruvian or not...according to our waiter (who was spaniard) that cheffs were peruvian...you figure out... but for me the food was from a scale of 1/10 a solid 3. Service was also very lazy, unfriendly and in general this place lacks any charm. When I let the waiter know that food was not really up to peruvian standards (which is not very difficult to reach as peruvian food is very simple and with generous ingredients) he didn't take the critics very well...too bad for him and of course no tip was left. It is a shame that in Cologne there is still not a solid offer of peruvian food for the german palate...only to be found still in Europe only in Spain, London and maybe Italy.I do not recommend this place...and come on guys be real...those prices are an insult...you can eat much better peruvian fare for those prices at Tanta in Madrid..."

"The Pane e cioccolata was formerly called Eiscafé Panna and is also listed on various websites under this name. The ice cream café operation was completely set in favor of the restaurant but unfortunately because the ice cream made here was really good! The name Pane e cioccolata refers to the award-winning film bread and chocolate from 1974 with Nino Manfredi in the lead. Sensually, a big poster of this movie hangs in the restaurant. In the Pane e cioccolata we go less because of the quality of food, but because of the atmosphere in the beer garden therefore also exclusively in summer. The restaurant is situated in the middle of the part of Neu Ehrenfeld, formerly known as the ink-cracker district, with the beautiful Art Nouveau style and the founding-time façades. The Pane e cioccolata has an outdoor terrace fenced by a high hedge, which makes holiday feelings come up in summer. In winter, the terrace is kept partly by building a kind of plastic tent. The quality of food in the Pane e cioccolata is fluctuating, sometimes really good, sometimes less. The pizza is usually neat, the salads are sometimes no longer so fresh and tastefully rather average, the pasta dishes are suitable, with ruffles up and down. We've eaten very well here, but even less well. The service is also varied, sometimes very friendly and sometimes somewhat muffley, as often happens in Italian family farms when there is a thick air. As I said, the terrace makes it for food there's better addresses within 500 meters."

"Ein winziges Cassis Schoko Törtchen ist mit Euro 5,20 erstaunlich fakturiert. Das wäre nicht weiter schlimm, stünde dem hohen Preis ein adäquates geschmackliches Erlebnis gegenüber. Dies ist leider nicht der Fall. Das Törtchen besteht aus zweierlei Mousse und einem dünnen Biskuitrand. Schwarze Johannisbeermousse mit wenig Aroma und einer dominierenden Säuerlichkeit, einer Schokomousse, die sich geschmacklich wenig von Convenienceprodukten aus dem Discounter unterscheidet. Dann noch ein Biskuitrand, der vor allem ungeschmeidig und leicht zäh schmeckt. Bedeckt ist das von einer roten Schicht, die wohl optische Gründe hat. Erstaunlich an dem Gebilde ist, wie wenig die unterschiedlichen Bestandteile harmonieren. Die beiden Mousse wollen nicht zusammenfinden, einzeln probiert haben sie bereits wenig Geschmack, zusammen stören sie sich eher gegenseitig. Da ist kein Lecker-Ergebnis, da hat man dann nach so einem Winztörtchen wirklich genug. Da gerne der Vergleich mit Patisserien aus Frankreich gemacht wird: Nein, jeder 08/15-Dorfbäcker bietet dort geschmacksträchtigere Konditorerzeugnisse. Käme so ein Törtchen von Oebel oder Merzenich und würde 1Euro50 kosten, das wäre alles kein Thema. Für über 5 Euro muß man aber nun wirklich mehr erwarten dürfen."

"This place makes a trip to Cologne worthwhile just to eat here. We had the best weiner schnitzel we have ever eaten. It was very flat and well cooked, their specialty. The pepper steak's sauce was prepared at table side. The photos tell the story...better than I can. The location is slightly outside of Cologne city center but a quick tram or U-Bahn ride. Service is great. They can speak enough English so you can get by. Prices are reasonable and very good value for money. We look forward to returning to Cologne just so that we can eat here again."
