"Our favorite dining experience in Oaxaca and we had many of them. This is the full package superb food, service, styling, and ambiance. We savored our meal slowly over two and a half hours and our waiter, Jonathan, couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. We especially enjoyed the five mole appetizer almost a meal in itself. Drinks were very good as well. If you arrive early, see if you can grab a drink in Selva the sister bar just above Los Danzantes. Oh and four drinks, three courses (shared) for about $75."

"This is a very small restaurant, not easy to find, but worth the effort. They offered a four-course comida corrida for 60 pesos. This included soup, salad, main dish, and dessert, plus fruited water and bread or tortillas. That day the soup was cream of...mushroom, the salad crisp lettuce and jicama, the dessert thinly sliced bananas with a drizzled sweet topping. My husband had a chicken dish and I had a relleno with banana replacing the usual corn coating and stuffed with black beans and cheese--absolutely delicious. The only down side is that the restaurant is on a very busy street and is open on the front. However, it is set back some from the street, and we choose a table at the rear so as to avoid some of the noise and possible fumes. We were fine."

"We made an effort to visit all of the top restaurants in Oaxaca during our week here and this is by far our favorite. We came here at the recommendation of our guide Rodolfo. Rodolfo said that when news reporters asked the famous chef Enrique Olvera what his favorite restaurants are in Mexico, he listed two and La Teca is one of them. We got the tasting menu the first night we were here and came back two nights later and ordered our favorites. You MUST come here when you are in Oaxaca. You will have the best meal of your visit for sure"

"We have dined from a local on a recommendation and were not disappointed. My tacos were more like frogs, covered with guacamole and cheese. The Tlayuda of my companion was so big that she could only finish half of it, even though she had ridden how good it was. The place itself is a bit of a hole in the wall, but that adds its charm. Friendly service, beer and wine. Bonus: There is even a small gift shop hidden in the back where we made a purchase."
