"Sitting outside, shaded from the sun, watching the brilliant staff buzz around the tables, keeping all the customers happy and advising what was good to eat, was a great part of the whole Le Terrasse experience.We ordered the €27 Menu and enjoyed a really good meal. From the starters, mains and dessert everything was fresh, beautifully cooked and presented. A Demi of the house white wine, a good recommendation from our waitress, was a great accompaniement.The fact that the tables were filled as soon as they emptied is testament to a fantastic experience.We'll definitely return when we're next in St Valery."

"Very friendly, well priced eatery in the picturesque town of St Valery. Run by two amiable women (who are keen to improve their not inconsiderable knowledge of English), one can sit and watch the world go by drinking local French beer and eating local dishes. We were very successful at doing this several times.My particular favourite was their house special - a baguette with local lamb pate and samphire, washed down with a crisp blond. Delicious!"

"We have visited Le Mathurin many times since it was a small eaterie with just an awning for covering and was next to the Poissonnerie. The food is wonderful,imaginative and really tasty. The restaurant is comfortable and the service is very good, if a little...speedy at times. Definitely book if you plan to visit."

"We wandered across the restaurant (almost hidden amongst others and what a find!! We ordered a crab each which, whilst had been freshly cooked, and was great value for money but came on a plate TOO small and was served on a table FAR TOO...small . It is difficult to eat a large whole crab each (without making a mess on a bistro size table let alone on 8 round plates!!! We will return (asking for a table to seat four, even though there only two of us as 25 Euros for two large crabs , mayonnaise and bread. a quarter of a litre carafe of wine and a coffee plus nibbles is hard to beat......not to mention that both the ladies and gents were spotless! We will return for sure and maybe try one of their seafood platters which looked absolutely superb (would need to starve for 24 hours before though first to fit all the food in!!"

"Nous sommes arrivés à la friterie sur recommandation, hélas nous aurions dû faire demi-tour.... Le service est inexistant, la nourriture est vraiment trop grasse (immangeable) et l'endroit vétuste. Une des baies vitrées qui entoure la salle, nous est tombée dessus lors de notre repas .... Pour couronner le tout nous nous sommes faits réprimandés par la patronne qui nous a accusés d'avoir touché à cette vitre !?!? (qui était ouverte à notre arrivée vu la chaleur et les odeurs ambiantes présentes dans la friterie). Cet endroit est à éviter absolument : bâtiment non sécurisé et nourriture inconsommable que de déception ..."
