"We stayed here for five nights and ate in the hotel restaurant for three of them. We loved the elegant table settings, the charming service and, of course, the excellent food. Do try the fillet de boef - perfectly cooked, well seasoned and with lovely accompaniments. When I read a couple of negative reviews I had to check that we were talking about the same place! Contrary to one review I think the food here is much better than the Lastiry opposite."

"We were in Sare for three days and ate dinner at Restaurant Lastiry twice. The atmosphere is lovely. Our waitress, Sandra, was very attentive but not overbearing. She also has a great sense of humor with her outgoing personality. Between the two nights we thoroughly enjoyed the following: lamb shank cooked in Basque beer, ground veal with mashed potatoes, salmon with hollandaise sauce, and dessert of poached pear and the regional wines. I particularly enjoyed the lamb shank! Highest rating and worth a drive if near Sare."

"We arrived without a reservation but they readily accomodated us , a party of 6. There are 3 set menus, all were reasonably priced. I had the gourmet menu and the portions were huge. My starter of a mixed salad was delicious. The other starter of garlic prawns was equally yummy - 5 big prawns. The mains were well cooked and very delicious. I had the turbot expecting a piece. Instead I got a whole turbot, grilled and served with a butter sauce! It was really fresh . There was hardly room for dessert but we managed to fit them in. Difficult choices but all were wonderful.Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this restaurant. Simple good food cooked to perfection."

"This summer we visited the village of Sare, one of the most beautiful village of france, at noon we tour the restaurants and we were drawn to it first a menu of the day has correct price : 9,50€ and a combined plate (salade and charcuterie) 9,80€ then basque cake to the black cherry (speciality of the country) excellent. We appreciate the kindness of the staff and the terrace. only negative dish plates!!!"

"Vam anar to visit the poble of Sara/Sare i no sabiem on menjar. Know some restaurant/bar that they recommend in a viatgers bloc. Finally, vam anar un que ens va cridar l 'atenció. Els preus són elevats, però val molt la pena provar els plats que ofereixen! The servei excel·lent, col-loquial in tot moment. Don't regret the disillusionment that vam prendre. Vam provar el Côte de beau du Baztan, el chuletón, entre altres. Tot boníssim!!! Com that was sopar, vam be able to veure the nit poble! Amb les llums i l'ambient nocturn."
