"I waited for almost an hour for my order- I was third in the queue when I arrived but while I was waiting for my food, a lady and young boy walked in and placed their order (they would have been at least people...behind me in the queue at this point) but the staff decided to make their food first and gave it to them before any of us who had ordered before. SHOCKINGbehaviour in front of other customers who could blatantly see that they had to wait longer while friends got served first! Food is average and customer service poor I would recommend trying somewhere else"

"Fantastic meal at roots. It's really hard to find decent Italian food in the UK, but Roots absolutely nails it. The menu is varied without being bloated, and a lot of the ingredients are made in house (i.e. the pasta). Fried pizza dough to start was seriously good, the seafood linguine had a generous portion of quality seafood in, and the tiramisu was out this world. The house red was also surprisingly good for the price. I didn't have very high expectations and was totally blown away but how good it was. Can't wait to go back again and again!"

"On Sunday night there was a chance, and although they were busy, they had space for four. that was not too long. Eating was really nice, perfectly cooked meat. a good menu choice for the children. the bill was not as big as expected. 2 round drinks, all with additional sides, and puddings for the four of us came to 86. beautiful staff. beautifully furnished for the festive and 2 roaring fires in our view. is visited again. many thanks."

"Ambience ,the food and service were all exceptional, well done you all. The staff were polite , friendly, helpful and attentive. Every dish we has was fab. The cheese soufflé and goats cheese tart were both well presented and tasteful. Main courses of duck and the beef pie…great and a great finish with crepe brûlée."

"Walked past many times and never seemed busy. Family booked a meal here and i was bit disappointed but must say it was very good. Food was very nice and place was nice inside. Service was also very good"
