"Very nice home style restaurant down the Jersey shore. Vegan options are well marked. We dined here during the summer of COVID, so only outdoor seating was available. We sat in the back, at a picnic table. Towards the end of the meal it got very dark and we were eaten alive by bugs. We ordered the flatbread and small plate of sunflower seed pesto pasta for appetizers. The flatbread was very good. I don’t think I’ve ever had vegan cheese like the cheese used on the bread. Very creamy and tasty. My husband and I agree that the best part of the meal was the pesto pasta. For an entree, I had the Thai peanut noodle. The noodles were made of black beans. It was quite gingery and very interesting. My three year old loved the noodles. My husband ordered the stewed seitan, which was maybe slightly salty but otherwise very good. We also ordered the iced hojicha and the fudgy brownie cake. The iced hojicha tasted like it was made from bags and not from loose leaves. It was fine. We didn’t realize the cake was raw, but it was also good (and I don’t normally like raw food, generally). Overall, I would say that this restaurant was a nice change of pace from the junky boardwalk food we have been eating the past couple of days. The vegetables were fresh (they’re sourced from local farms) and well prepared. Everything was made in-house, which is very impressive. The food is quite pricey for what it is, and the service is a bit slow. The restaurant is not in the same league as some vegan restaurants in NYC, for example, but if you are in town and can afford it, it’s definitely worth a visit."
