"The Krone is definitely one of my favorites located in the old town, pedestrian zone in Winterthur (actually in the Hotel Krone). The atmosphere is friendly, the staff are lovely and very attentive, the food especially the Wiener Schnitzel are very good. Prices are not exactly cheap, but you get good value for your money."

"Wir haben sehr gut gegessen. Vorspeise bis Dessert, alles hat gepasst. Auch die Bedienung war sehr Aufmerksam , schnell, freundlich. Wir können das Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen. Ganz speziell die Linguine frutti di Mare waren perfekt und auch die Portionen sehr grosszügig."

"Da es plötzlich zu regnen anfing kehrten wir im Douchessa ein. Der Service war sehr sehr freundlich. Tranken nur etwas und assen Tiramisu das vorzüglich war! Dass uns trotz später Stunde mit Freude serviert wurde! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder. Dann auch zum Essen! Nur zu empfehlen!!"

"At the first time at cardilli, our reservation was not adhered to and we had to go (at the cost of the restaurant) to another place to drink something until our table became free, and that was an hour later. at the 2nd time, we have doubled the reservation so that it does not happen. but it happened again, and stinky was done as if we had reserved an hour later. this day my mother had birthday and it was very cold. we didn't want to go somewhere to drink, even if the costs are taken over by the restaurant. the money has been overwhelmed again and guests were left without reservation at our table. I'll never do casa cardilli again."

"We were in Winterthur at a Sunday lunchtime need ing food and spied an old favourite, Molino. The restaurant was busy but there was room for two. The menu was different to that we have seen previously so we went for two design your own...pizzas, choosing our bases and then our toppings. Both pizzas were delicious. If we are in Winterthur again, we will consider revisiting Molino."

"OK; so I admit: I took a friend here to impress him. And impressed he was! And that's not easy. I mean, a couple of hours before he just picked up his Jaguar F-Type and was complaining that it was a little too loud when he started the motor. Well, Bunter Hund delighted him completely. He's totally a wine snob, but we let ourselves be persuaded by the matching beer plan. And with all of the courses, we let ourselves be persuaded and seduced. This increases the enjoyment exponentially. Because the cook explains personally what you are eating. Like a poet. People are happy in the Bunter Hund; the good vibe is catching. When you leave, your belly is full of delicious stuff, poetry really, all from local producers. So you feel happily connected to your local world when you live. And when my buddy started up his Jag we just smiled."

"Das Thunfisch-Carpaccio war raffiniert und sehr schön sowie mit vielen Zutaten garniert. Als Hauptspeise folgte ein Rinderhuft-Steak an rosa Pfeffersauce mit Gemüse und Rösti (als Sonderwunsch, anstelle von Kartoffelecken). Das Steak war hervorragend gebraten und wie gewünscht medium rare. Bei Huft bin ich eher skeptisch, ist es doch im Vergleich zu Entrecôte und Filet günstiger. Aber die Fleischqualität war auszgezeichnet und das Steak sehr zart. Die Gemüsegarnitur war der Hit, selten so reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich erlebt. Spinat, Karotten, Broccoli, Blumenkohl, Romanesco, Fenchel, Kohlrabi und Ratatouille. Schön im Butter geschwenkt, teilweise angemacht mit Käse, Krätuersauce oder einer sämigen Tomatensauce, wie beim Ratatouille. Wirklich ein Gedicht. Und die Rösti war superschön knusprig, ohne fettig zu sein. Einziger Kritikpunkt: beim Fleisch wird das Gewicht bei diesem Gericht nicht in der Karte angegeben und das Stück fiel eher klein aus, war aber nicht gerade günstig. Mir als Frau mit normalem Appetit hat es absolut gereicht, aber ein hungriger Mann wird dann wohl eher das über 300g schwere Schweinekotelett bestellen ;-) Beim Dessert entschied ich mich für die gebrannte Crème, wobei die kleine Portion sehr grosszügig ausfiel. Nur leider war die Konsistenz der Crème irgendwie mehlig, seltsam und ich liess sie zurückgehen. Auch geschmacklich überzeugte mich das Dessert nicht, es war einfach nur süss. Die Chefin zeigte sich verständnisvoll und meinte, dass ich Recht gehabt hätte, da wäre wohl was schief gelaufen. Ich war froh und darin bestätigt zwar anspruchsvoll, aber nicht mäkelig zu sein. Zurück von der Rauchpause wartete dann ein spendiertes und sehr gutes Caramel-Eis auf uns, als Entschädigung. Das fanden wir sehr aufmerksam und freundlich! Unsere Bedienung war aufmerksam, sympathisch und aufgestellt und so erlebten wir auch die Chefin des Hauses. Bei meiner Rechnung war dann zwar noch ein kleiner Fehler (2 Gläser Wein, anstelle von dem einen, das ich konsumiert hatte), was ich aber nicht weiter schlimm fand und der natürlich anstandslos korrigiert wurde. Der Wein war ebenfalls hervorragend, ein kalifornischer, vollmundiger und süsslicher Chardonnay, sehr süffig, ein typischer "Frauenwein". Das Ambiente im Sonneck ist sehr schön und gemütlich und die Gästestruktur war bunt gemischt. Als güntig kann man das Essen nicht bezeichnen, aber Qualität (und die schmeckte sowie sah man), toller Service und eine schöne Umgebung findet man hier auf jeden Fall. Ich habe für meine Vorspeise, ein stilles Wasser, einen Prosecco, einen Espresso und die Hauptspeise (Dessert wurde nicht verrechnet, weil er ja zurückging) sowie ein Glas Wein CHF 90.00 bezahlt. Als kleine Anregung: wir waren doch einige Stunden im Sonneck und nach einer Weile empfand ich die Holzstühle ohne Kissen doch als recht unbequem. Hier könnte man mit schönen Kissen die stilvolle Dekoration erweitern und den weniger gut "gepolsterten" Gästen eine etwas konfortablere Sitzmöglichkeit bieten. ;-)"

"We subsequently caught up on our annual financial statements with 15 people at the Gasthof zum goldenen Kreuz and were more than satisfied. The reservation with menu suggestions and final selection was made easily via email/phone and very competently. The service is extremely friendly, attentive, courteous, professional and almost perfect. The fine 3-course menu was pure enjoyment and consideration was also given to those colleagues with intolerances. The atmosphere is rustic, very cozy and well-kept. All in all we had a great evening. 5 stars well deserved."
