"Enjoyed lunch at Tra la Terra e Il Cielo yesterday. The location is very attractive and service is attentive and friendly. They have English menus and plenty of the staff speak English. However, the food was just not exceptional. We started with fois gras which we love and is unusual to find in this area. It was quite good but I’ve had much better. Then we had pappardelle with slow roasted veal sauce. I was really looking forward to this because I’ve had it elsewhere and really enjoyed it. It was tasty but underwhelming. The sauce just wasn’t intense enough. Mom had roasted veal for her main course and it was quite bland. I had roasted octopus and this was really very tasty. Desserts were a brownie dish with ice cream (good not great) and a flan-type dish with peach sauce that was pretty good until the peach sauce was gone, then bland. There’s a lovely terrace with great views when the weather is good."
