"Had the roast dinner. Chicken and beef good but roast potatoes a big disappointment. Tasted as though they’d been cooked for hours and reheated. Noticed that other diners left them so not a one off. Otherwise enjoyable and nice atmosphere."

"The management of this place is shocking. Firstly, the what seems to be the managers of this place scream at their staff infront of customers, which is beyond shocking! Especially since majority of their staff are children. Very clear that they take advantage of their young children staff. I have been in another previous time, and I witnessed an older member of staff shouting and swearing yes swearing at a younger member of staff who just stood there and took it. Which is disgusting behaviour, especially a grown adult swearing. Thought being an adult, they’d know better on how to respect others and take care of their customers and staff, clearly not, the teenagers they have worker there are more mature then the adult staff which is just laughable. The managers are very disrespectful and you can tell they hate their job. I would too if I was in my 50’s working in hospitality, which is seen as a teenager job"

"Second visit and really like this relaxed country cafe. Unfortunately I forgot to ask for no butter on my open prawn sandwich. I don't understand why butter is needed when there is mayonnaise or marie rose dressing on sandwiches but apparently some people prefer butter as well. Lots of lovely crisp salad. My daughter had the tomato and mozzarella bruschetta which she said was delicious. Prices are reasonable too and Cedar Farm has some lovely shops."

"Went at midday for Sunday roast. Was told it was chicken and beef. Ordered 2 roast, 1 nutroast and 1 fish and chips. Ten minutes later we were told the beef wouldn't be ready until 4pm. 45 minutes later the food arrived. Roast potatoes looked good but were soggy and cold, the broccoli was hard and cold, nutroast was burnt on the edges, mash was cold. The chick was not a roast just a dry chicken fillet tgat tasted horrid. The lovely staff asked was everything ok but was nit at all surprised when I told them it was absolutely vile and I would not be paying for it. One actually said I don't blame you I'm fed up with it. Never in my life have I not paid for my food no matter what. Hubby ate his fish and chips so said I would pay for that. £21 fir 4 coke and a frozen fish and chips. Absolutely rank"

"Visited at 6pm on Monday 1st April. We were on a Groupon offer, 3 course and a glass of Prosecco £32 for 2 of us. Starters were very ordinary. Chicken and bacon terrine. Caesar salad had far too much sauce. Chicken main course was pretty...good. Prawn Linguine was very good. Sticky toffee pudding and Eton mess for pudding. Waitress really nice. The restaurant lacks atmosphere. Apart from the starters the food was good."

"We were served by a young teenager girl. I asked about the vegan ice, as he has a milchin tolerance, unfortunately the waitress could not be harassed with a separate scoop for the ice. do they not offer vegan and use them the same lace? what if. someone has a heavy milk allergy? somehow the vegan oreo was revolting, so anyway it went into the müll. I asked for a little ice for me and she gave me a medium when I asked if it was small, she said, no, they wanted to aromen? that's never a problem. last visit from us, for a zip that went in the ridge and twice the size I ordered."

"This is a class café with excellent coffee and high quality food, including delicious homemade cakes. perfect place for a place of lunch or meet with friends for a natter. a great advantage for adlington. I love the spaciousness of him and the simple on the eye decoration and for the service it would be hard to beat. as they may have guessed, I love this place."

"This restaurant is getting better when we visit, but tonight it was absolutely excellent. from the moment when one of our party appeared early (first in the restaurant and was wonderfully respected for the very friendly farewell, this was a wonderful evening. the staff was extremely nice and efficient and made the visit really. there were free olives, brot and cheeses directly and we were made to feel welcome from the beginning. [sides: why not give restaurants to customers small free tasty stores? they cost pennies and customers love them. they are also a point of discussion. that was great. for the appetizers, the chorizo, the cloves in feta cheese and tomaten (I know, but it works and the calamari were all exceptionally good. the Greek kleftiko lamb was absolutely out of this world. boiled for three hours and served with a delicious vegetable pot like a ratatouille, it was really the outstanding dish. another member of our party had the steak in pfeffergrass sauce and welcomed the great part and the rich sauce. the brandy and tia maria coffee have a completely new meaning for the set generous measures. The only less than impressive element was the cheesecake of the day, which seemed to be an external source and more pedestrian. all dishes were beautifully presented and served piping hot. there is no doubt that eating now matches the service in bistecca. this was a Wednesday evening at 18 o'clock and in the following hour the restaurant was occupied but not crowded. the word has come out clearly. it would be too early to say it is on a par with the magnificent retreat restaurant a few hundred meters on the road, but it is certainly in this direction. bistecca can not compete with retreat on hire or ambience (who can? but it is certainly now competing with them on the quality of food on the teller and at the end it is important."

"After months of not eating out it was lovely to visit Top Lock for some lunch. We chose from the lunch menu and both had a ciabatta with firs I had the Mariner which was various pieces of fish, and the husband had steak. It was delicious. The only thing I could 'finf fault ' with was the quiet there was music playing in the background but it was so faint we couldn 't hear it. And as there weren 't lots of people eating, I felt awkward as the two people at the table next to us could hear every word we said, as we could them. It just made the whole experience 'awkward ' on what would otherwise have been a much better lunch!"
