"We were camping at the wonderful Camping de l'Agly site, run by Jean Luc and his lovely wife. But we needed our daily fix of good coffee in relaxed, yet efficient and beautiful surroundings. We found exactly that at Le Ptit Chapitre and we went there each day before and after our long cycle rides up and down fortressed hills in this breath taking landscape, renowned for its Cathar history. They don't do there own Viennoiserie but they are fine with you buying from the excellent boulangerie down the street to eat at Le Ptit Chapitre there IS a little chapel to visit in St Paul de Fenouillet. We came to adore our café/restaurant host owner. On our last night, we ate dinner there and the food was delicious. We also spotted a family of owls who had taken up residence on surrounding balconies and in trees along with bats. The owner explained that he had found one of the baby owls in the street the previous day and had placed it in the tree and now the rest of the family had joined it. Such a charming place, Highly recommend."

"Stopped for coffee at Mas Peyre and ended up having an excellent wine tasting. Children were also included in the wine tasting with raisin juice to try. The organic wine, produced by the owners, has won many prizes and was very good. In the end we spent a good hour here and left with two bottles of their dessert wine (one white, one red, €18 a bottle) – these were the wines we liked the most during the tasting. As well as selling Wine, Mas Peyre also functions as a Bistro and an organic grocery store. Prices for food and drink were very reasonable."

"Nous avons réservé pour un repas de famille. Nous étions 17 adultes, et 2 enfants. Nous avons eu droit à une salle privatisée, simplement mais superbement décorée, chaleureuse...parfaite ! Et dès l'arrivée des plats du menu enfant, nous avons tous compris où nous étions : un restaurant à la cuisine soignée, goûtue, des bons produits...bref une excellente table. Et en effet, de l'entrée au dessert, un service impeccable, des plats très bons...En tant que repas de groupe, nous avions le choix entre 3 entrées, 3 plats et 3 desserts. Nous avions tous les plats présents à table, et toutes les assiettes ont été entièrement terminées....ah non, pas certains desserts, certains convives étant rassasiés. Le seul point que je relèverait, sil en fallait un, c'est la simplicité du fondant au chocolat, qui dénote un peu par sa simplicité et sa présentation basique de tout le reste, qui était bien plus joliment présenté et original. Mais cela reste un tout petit grain de sable, plongé dans un océan de plaisir gustatif !Un incontournable, clairement !"

"An entrance buffet that is simply summarized. The hot dishes have no freshness and you just want to commit suicide!!!!viandes=seals,fish = chiller dating from 1967,Frites not cooked, vegetable cooked with water. ... desserts buffets = idem at the entrances. It sucks!"

I chose the menu of the day that included a paned camembert with its melting of pears in entry, as well as a gigot and its corsé sauce accompanied by a mix of forgotten vegetables that I had pleasure in trying to recognize. To finish a light lemon pie verrine with a good balance between acidity and sugar. To do and redo without hesitation."
