"Typical high standard Austrian Gasthaus. Some interesting twists to traditional food. A schnitzel stuffed with pesto and pumpkinseed and Austrian cheese. Delicious creamed pumpkin soup. We shared a steak tartare starter. Reliable usual local prices and to be recommended."

"Genervtes, völlig überlastetes und laut miteinander "diskutierendes" Personal, überlange Wartezeit und ein für die äußerst stolzen Preise bestenfalls mittelmäßiges Essen: das war wohl unser letzter Besuch in diesem von manchen so hoch gelobten Gasthaus. Eineinhalb Stunden lang hat es bis zur Vorspeise gedauert, insgesamt vier (!) mal haben wir vergeblich um einen Kinderstuhl gebeten, bis wir schließlich doch noch einen bekamen. Das auf zum Teil ausgeschlagenen Tellern servierte Essen war keine Empfehlung für das Haus, einzig die Nachspeisen hielten in etwa, was der (sehr hohe) Preis versprach. Nein, hierher kommen wir nicht wieder!"

"While the interior of this restaurant is quite attractive without being distinctive, I preferred to sit at the terrace, which is the hallmark of this place. It provides a marvelous view over the valley and the town of Bruck an der Mur. Although at least two thirds of the totality of seats inside and outside were empty, I had to wait for a quarter of an hour to receive a menu and to be asked for a drink, which took further ten minutes to be served. This was a real nuisance and I saw other guests being affected by this extremely slow service too. Evidently, there was only a single waiter on duty, who tried his best, but could not cope with the number of guests present. The rather limited standard menu, which was complemented by two dishes of the day, comprised almost exclusively classics of the Austrian cuisine, no specialties or particularly creative dishes. It was dominated by many variants of schnitzel, all of which cost roughly 10 euros. Vegetarians would have to be content with a salad platter because this was the only main course on the menu suitable for them. The time from ordering to receiving my meal was also fairly long, but not excessive. I found the roast turkey salad quite good, though the meat was a bit too salty for my liking. In my opinion, this restaurant is of an average price level in view of the food offered, the enormous portion sizes and the ambience of this place. The reference that the name of this restaurant makes to heaven does not seem to stem from heavenly performance, but solely from the somewhat advanced altitude at which it is located. Note that Himmelwirt is basically a lunch restaurant because the kitchen closes already when the evening breaks."

"It just fits everything. the warm reception by the wetin, the nice ambiente, the menu very well designed with enough selection of foods (menu suggestions) and drinks, good wine selection, you can also go on extra requests, although only the wetin alone serves and the chef in the kitchen works with a kitchen help do not create long waiting times. eating delicious, you can notice the quality of the ingredients. we will recommend the dahoam (table reserve!) and will be back safely."

"Had luck to get a shady little bite, were by chance past there at midday (or already saluted, since over 30 degrees in the shadow.) the house is totally sweet with crumbles and blooms completed, you don't realize that next door is the street (and behind the mur.) the eating was very good, the compositions were already more sophisticated and the kitchens. also the lunch menu was very good, the service was very fast and attentive. we remember the spot for another visit!"
