"We've been going to this "paillotte" (beach restaurant) for the last 8 years. We have never been disappointed by the top quality food. We usually have a family outing to l'Effet Mer on a Sunday, for their buffet (all you can eat). We went last Sunday and had a fantastic meal, taking our time and great pleasure in returning to try something else from the huge choice on offer. Supplies were replenished constantly. Delicious little verrine appetizers, accras, carapaccio of tuna, variety of different salads, Spanish style tapas...grilled beef or chicken brochettes, oysters, sushi....just amazing variety! Desserts were just as wonderful (for those who had room!); something for everyone from delicious fresh fruit to cakes, pastries and ice creams. Our waiter was very efficient, friendly and entertaining. Just one little criticism....I know it's a beach restaurant, and the atmosphere is very relaxed, so you can wander in literally off the beach, but I wish the toilets were a little more "sophisticated", in keeping with the rest..."

"It was our first visit in le grande motte. it is an interesting city on the sea. new and definitiw not traditional. it has usually been done well when the upkeep is kept on a decent standard. I think oktober was a good time to visit, somehow... between seasons not too busy, but not dead. the grand bleu stood out on the one hand. it was the busiest restaurant we saw and we had no reservation. we just got an outside. we were helped by an extremely energetic older man who could be the owner. next time we book. we chose the 30 Euro menu to start garne for me and soup fish for my wife, we had both seabreads for the main and a kind of chocolate soufflé dessert. all washed with a decent bottle of local rose, the harm came to 94 euro. extremely pleasant, a great ambiente at the sea just the job."

"Merci à Magui et à toute son équipe pour nous avoir réalisé cette belle soirée familiale entourée de nos enfants et petits enfants dans un cadre magnifique avec un bon repas .Félicitations aussi au serveur toujours à l'écoute du moindre de nos désirs tout en s'occupant d'autres clients de la salle de restaurant.Les enfants ont été surpris de connaître un restaurant à cet endroit qu'ils croyaient être un salon de thé , tout le monde se joint à moi pour te remercier encore une fois ."

"Wonderful view over harbour mouth. Very attentive helpful staff asked for coupe de champagne but according to bill we were given kir royal which was ok. We chose springtime menu. Terry's asparagus & fois gras were exceptional, looked good tasted better everything you would expect from a master cuisiniere. His lamb was meltingly tender tho perhaps a little more cooked than one might have expected. My risotto was a disgrace the rice might have been ok but it was swimming in oil/ fat with some frazzled baby octopus on top. I should have sent it back I would never have served a dish looking like this to guests of mine. I think my duo of fish &lobster (supplement) had been ok but must have sat under a hot light for while as the sauce was completely dried up no use for the sauce spoon that's for sure. Meal ended better nice selection of delicious cheese & an amazing crepe soufflé (supplement). We did not expect a cheap meal but. The standard of my food fell way below what I expected from Michelin 2 knife & fork not to mention master cuisiniere"
