"While walking around Kettwig we discover this nice Gasthaus. the bier garden overlooks the river. we had a nice fish "matjesfilet" which is Herring served with delicous potatoes. Very friendly staff. just a little note, they do not accept credit card"

"Von mir gibt es Sterne, ich war sehr überrascht,als ich durch Zufall ,auf dieses kleine Lokal gestoßen bin ,sehr freundliche Bedienung, saulecker leckere Speisen ,man kann die Zubereitung, in der offenen Küche verfolgen .Ich bekam sogar leckere Pommes aus Süßkartoffeln, zum probieren gereicht ,ich habe mich bis dato noch nicht dran getraut ,bin ehrlich gesagt ,kein Freund von Süßkartoffeln, aber diese waren Saulecker ,auch meine Salat ,habe ich mit Genuss verspeist, was daran liegen könnte ,dass die Marinda, aus eigener Herstellung kam ,und nicht aus der Tube.Alle Speisen die wir bestellt haben ,waren sehr lecker ,und reichlich ,wir waren sehr zufrieden ,und kommen bestimmt mal wieder."

"Wir waren gestern in einer Gruppe von 10 Personen zum Brunch im Caruso. Insgesamt enttäuschend. Die Platten mit den Speisen fand ich wenig appetitlich und einseitig. Nur eine Platte Käse, dafür viel Wurst, wenig Cerealien, kein Naturjoghurt. Das warme Essen für meinen Geschmack nicht einladend, zudem waren die Speisen nicht beschriftet. Man musste raten, was da in der Sauce schwamm: Schwein, Rind oder Geflügel? Nicht jeder isst ja alles. Der Reis - pampig. Zudem war das Essen nicht wirklich heiß. Getränkekarte - gab es nicht. Bedienung zählte auf, was es gibt. Besonders professionell wirkten die Servicekräfte auf mich nicht. Das Ambiente: Pompös, die wenigen Gäste verloren sich irgendwie in den "kirchenähnlichen Räumlichkeiten".Habe in vielen Hotels schon besser gefrühstückt als hier gebruncht."

"The Michelin starred ”Nero” restaurant at the helm of well known chef Erika Bergheim enlightened a final night's stay at hotel Hugenpoet perfectly for us. To my own surprise it was so good that I still remember some of the dishes; the ingenious shrimp and crab salad, the lamb with herb ravioli and the ”french toast” (!) desert. I couldn’t help comparing with Nils Henkel’s restaurant at Schloß Lerbach or Vendôme att Schloß Bensberg – both quite near just outside Cologne and both holding three Michelin stars. In our opinion Nero was - at this particular visit - just a great experience. In any case, you would be unwise not to appreciate the excellent price/performance here. Service impeccable. Food memorable."
