"Visited twice disorganized . Pay at till , no menu to chose from, find your own table, soup cold , no cutlery, no napkins , no water offered, tables slightly sticky, toilets scruffy . This cafe used to be lovely . Change in management has led to a drop in standards . Won’t be returning if things don’t pick up . Disgruntled"

"If you want to treat yourself to luxury dining and accommodations, and Irish hospitality The Lawrence is place to stay. Coming home after retiring from a career in the movie industry in Los Angeles, Ca. Elizabeth and Aodan Coburn bought an old world pub, and built a luxury B&B and restaurant behind it. From the outside it looks like a traditional pub but delightful surprises wait within. The B&B and restaurant are new, tastefully decorated in a combination of modern, old world, and Hollywood during the mid 1900 's and the era of Lawrence of Arabia. The food is some of the best we 've had and the Irish Breakfast is definitely superior to any of the other breakfasts we had during our two week stay in Ireland. Elizabeth Coburn and staff will wrap you in some of most wonderful Irish hospitality you 'll experience. Athboy is located in the heart of the Boyne Valley less than 30 minutes from Newgrange, Hill of Tara, Trim Castle, Drogheda and other historical sites of Irish history. The Dublin Airport and Dublin are only 45 minutes. Unfortunately we discovered it at the end of our trip and only spent two nights. Although we discovered it by accident when there were no other rooms left in other Inns it became one of our best memories of Ireland and it 's people. It will definitely be at the top of our list for our next visit to Ireland!"

"The service was terrible. Manager showed us our seat and then forgot about us never gave us menus, we had to go look for them ourselves. The food was as always delicious but the service let it down with a bang. The person in the seat beside us just got up and left as no one came to take his order, he was waiting 15 minutes plus. The bar/ restaurant was not that busy and there was plenty of staff. We would have stayed for another round of drinks but it was taking to long to get service."
