"A variety of meats and vegetables are served here for Sunday lunch but I found it very disappointing when I poured gravy all over my lamb to find it tasted like beef which I don't eat at all and havent liked it since I was a child. Apparently this established restaurant does not bother to make individual gravy for the different meats it serves but just one for all. Imagine my disappointment when I heard we were coming here for Christmas day. Gravy in my view makes or mars a meal and Christmas lunch this year is £80, I was quite shocked to hear that they are still only going to serve one gravy for all even though we would be paying £240 for the 3 of us. I was offered a vegan gravy? Not good enough I am afraid. If I can boil up the bones and make a tasty jus with the meat juices surely this chef can."

"We didn't eat at the Rising Sun but but stopped off for drinks on the two evenings we stayed in Lynmouth. Very good selection of beers and nice to sit outside watching the boats in the harbour."

"As soon as we walked into this restaurant with our friends, the fantastic buzz was apparent. Even at the place was rammed with happy customers having a great time. The Thai menu was extensive and varied so making your choice was tricky! We all...shared two plates of fried squid to start this was exceptional and not just the usual battered rings. The batter was deliciously light, textured and crunchy and the squid was in lovely big chunks, with a spicy, tangy dip. Gorgeous! Mains were a good portion size and the spicing was spot on for the hotter dishes. The coconut rice (you can choose the rice to accompany your dish) was very good indeed. All the meals were very tasty and resulted in four clean bowls. Service was attentive and accurate. And the restaurant was just as busy when we left around as it had been when we arrived. It shows that the restaurant is getting it just right."

"Great find, my wife and I had a fantastic meal, both having the Hake. It was cooked to perfection, followed with the raspberry parfait. Very relaxed and freindly atmosphere and to top it off at a really reasonable price. Will defeintly return when back in Devon."
