"Very cozy Japanese cafe offering classic tea standards plus intriguing choices to try. Ice cream, sundaes, sandwiches, pasta, croissants, danish all with a twist. So many things to try and more reasons to come back. It’s no wonder it’s gaining popularity as an alternative place to hang out, study, have meeting and reunions. FYI: been frequenting the place since I discovered it. Tonight (2-18-2018), we had desserts and I thought I’d post some pics."

"After our filling lunch in Ippudo, M, C and I walked around looking for the perfect pair of white clinic / hospital shoes for C. After about an hour we gave up. We opted for a "light" dessert. M mentioned that there is a newly opened dessert restaurant in RP Manila: THE DESSERT KITCHEN! ???? Everyone agreed to try.

When we got there, M was looking for the raindrop cake, which unfortunately is not carried in this branch. ???? We tried the PURPLE IN LOVE instead. The three of us shared a serving as we were all still fairly full (and to minimize our intake of sweet food).

✔ PURPLE IN LOVE (Php 258) - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is a kind of ice cream monster type dessert (remember that crowd-pleaser that boomed more than a decade ago?) With shaved ice and toppings. Purple in Love is a grape-flavored dessert - a flavor not often found in desserts in the PH! Grape-shaved ice cream with taro / eubeis mochi balls, rice balls, fresh grapes and grape seaweed balls - if you order this, you can look forward to a sweet treat. I especially loved the seaweed balls because they were like popping bobba, but crispier and firmer! ???? The ice cream mochi balls tasted great too. The rice balls, on the other hand, were a bit damp / too soft for my taste. I especially liked the areas of the shaved ice that had milk - which made the dessert creamier. ???? Make sure to eat this with someone else as it can be too cute! ????

The place is pretty small and I think it would be better if they rent a business rather than having their booth in their current location. A great ambience is sure to do great wonders for The Dessert Kitchen - so the relatively expensive desserts seem to be more worthwhile than they actually are. ????

#EatDrinkSplurge"
