"Since Stradbally Fayre has opened, my son and I have frequented there on numerous occassions, enjoying Sunday breakfast. On every visit we have made my son, an eleven year old, has ordered the same thing, pancakes! Today was no different, however, we were told that he could not be served pancakes due to how busy the staff were. This seemed understandable to us both until a man and three kids sat next to us. The three children ordered pancakes which my son over heard. The waitress agreed and took their order. On hearing this, my son then approached the waitress and again requested pancakes. He was told that he could not have them as he is not a 'regular '. Now, I greatly appreciate that the staff were busy and accepted, without question, the refusal of the first order. It does seem quite unfair that three children can order but one can 't. Unfortunately, my son appears to have this quite personally and has asked that we do not return to Stradbally Fayre because of this!"

"I was told I should try mulhalls for lunch when I went on a day trip to portlaoise. I just did that, but don't go back. my partner ordered to eat first, the girl served us, think her, marie was her name, she had a...face she was shed on the head, not to carry her face as his intention. they were gum while they were behind the food counter. they made my partner sandwich first, which looked very nice so I told him, id have the same. Just as he went to order my food, the girl wiped her nose with the back of her hand, without changing gloves, asking her what id like went to get the brot. I quickly changed my mind decided not to eat at all. in consideration of the pandemic we have to do with in the minute, I think that might be a very good idea to train the personal in proper health protection procedures, make sure they adhere to HSE advice."

"Went here for a casual cup of tea with a friend and loved it. Super quick and excellent service the staff went out of their way to ensure we are enjoying our experience to the fullest. Very clean warm and welcoming atmosphere. Lovely lobby area with fireplace and coffee shop with sweets to the side, bar has a wonderful warm natural light and a beautiful moder fireplace that surely bring comfort to guests."

"Was there today found the girls really friendly but very slow. Ordered our deinks I asked for a coke but sent it back as it was very flat. We then ordered our food and took over 45mins for the food to come out. Even after other people came in after us and got there food before us had to ask girls to check if food was ready anytime soon as I had friends down visiting and time was of the essence. I orded the beef roast was nothing special there was not much on the plate had to ask for roast patatoes and extra gravey to add flavour. As it took so long for food to come we didn't have enough time to go anywhere else. So we decided to just have desert there it took over 35 mins for that to come out again we had to ask staff to check and see if its ready. The food had obviously been waiting a while in the kitchen as I orderd the sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream. The pudding had gone cold and the ice cream had melted. When leaving we made our way to the till where there was 3 members of staff standing chatting completely ignoring the fact we were waiting to pay again we had to ask staff if we could pay. Was not very impressed would recommend many other Pub food restaurants in the Area."
