"I have visited this establishment every Thursday after my weekly squash session nearby. My first experience here was absolutely wonderful. I was struggling with the menu as there were plenty of pizzas to choose from. Thankfully, the Asian guy behind the counter helped me a lot and told me to customise the pizza with my own choice of toppings. The pizza made was perfect as it was cooked properly and all ready in 10 minutes. After a couple of Thursdays, I think I have became a regular as even the English lady making the pizza knew my order by heart. Last week my squash session was cancelled so I decided to fulfil my pizza craving on a Monday instead. I was in utter shock by the service I got by a tall elderly man who I believe is the owner of the place. He took my customised pizza order impatiently and rudely. When I turned my back to take a seat while I wait for my order, I caught him waving his hands showing me a rude gesture but I decided to let it slip as I might have been mistaken. However, I definitely was not mistaken as a few minutes later, one of his "buddies" must have came in and he gave him a bottle of beer and both of them were talking rather loudly and that was when I heard him telling his "buddy" about how complicated my order was and used some racial words. All my life I have never seen such unprofessionalism at a work place and mind you I have seen plenty before. Its a pity that the place is let down by such people. I usually do not single out any staff in particular but in this case I felt I had to as I do not condone racist behaviour."

"Stayed at Rydges hotel in Canberra with some friends for the weekend. We ordered pizza from this restaurant that was happy to deliver to the hotel reception. Pizza was hot on arrival and we had the ability to pay by credit card over the phone."

"My wife and I visited Salisbury Lodges last weekend and ate at the Araluen restaurant last Saturday night. It was quite an experience! This is a very small family run restaurant with Phillippa Augl doing the cooking and husband Sepp doing the front of house....The menu was quite restricted with two entrees, three main dishes and two desserts. The restaurant is licensed, but wines are inexpensive, with an emphasis on locally grown. Wine is also available by the glass. The meals were very good with the highlight being the house special, local trout de-boned at the table in front of us by Sepp. My wife Virginia, had the trout whilst I had the excellent Lamb Rack with blueberries and Manis. Heaps of honey roasted vegetables on the side, plus two desserts Apple crumble and Palatschinken (a type of Austrian crepe) served with ice cream and chocolate. Both desserts were excellent. And all finished off with a glass of Jagermeister. All in all a very interesting evening. It's great when the chef comes out and talks with you and her husband entertains you with tales from years ago. A great location, very quiet and peaceful."
