"Arrived for dinner with no reservation at 7pm but was seated immediately. This is the oldest hotel in the village dating back to the 15tj century so has a charming exterior. On the inside it is rather plain but tables were set well. By 8.15pm the rest of the tables were occupied. My partner had a white wine which was ok but not amazingWe had the bread to start for 2. On the menu it has a price of €3.50 for this but beware as this appears to be the price per person as we found out later, not per portion of the bread. This was not clarified on the menu. The white crusty bread was nice but we are not fans of rye bread. This came with a goats cheese and herb dip as well as unsalted butter. For mains we had the fried char from the nearby Fuschl lake and fried lamb. Both dishes were very tasty although the lamb was bordering on being tough even though it still had a bit of pink showing. My partner felt that the char was the best main he had had in Austria so far although if you choose this be aware that it has many fine bones in it. The gratin that came as a side with the lamb was quite salty and could have done with being cooked for a bit longer as the sliced potatoes were still a tad crunchy. We shared the toblerone torte which was very good. Our bill came up to €69 before tips for a glass of wine, some tap water, the bread, two mains, and a dessert. The service was good with a waitress who spoke good English so we gave a tip at the end. This was the priciest meal we have had after 7 days of being in Austria, and whilst good, was not the most delicious. We have had a better tasting meal costing significantly less in an upmarket restaurant in Vienna. This may have something to do with this being a touristy area and the hotel's history."

"We visited this establishment just a few hours before we were due to leave St Gilgen and make our way home. However did (just) manage a late lunch. What lovely food and very delicious. Clean, prompt and friendly staff."

"Cheese sausage and pizza was good, frankfurter was only decent average. Went to Lake Wolfgang to enjoy the view and grab a bite, only to leave disappointed and wishing never to come back to this beautiful country. Experienced racist attitude (seeing we are Asians) from two different restaurants including this one. I guess, just avoid this place when you’re Asian and try it if you’re American or European."

"Es war ein sehr schöner Tag und wir wollten einfach nur einen Kaffee trinken und ein Eis essen . Doch der Kellner hat mir zu verstehen gegeben das er sehr genervt ist und an diesem tag keine lust hatte. Da wir fast die einzigen Gaeste waren hatte es mich doch gewundert das wir ca 5 minWarten mussten um die Karten zu bekommen und nach der Bestellung durften wir auch noch sehr lange warten bis wir Eis und Kaffee gleichzeitig auf den Tisch hatten... PS: die Saison ist noch nicht vorbei also Finger aus dem A...."

"Haus am Hang, charming view over Wolfgangsee, great terrace (off-sumer indoor seating looks very delightful as well). parking in-front of the restaurant, dog-friendly (after all guests had finished their deserts, tiny dog-snacks been given to the doggies' present) What a tread from the moment we stepped into the restaurant, the home-made amazing choice of internal types of breads, delicious produce amazingly and deliciously prepared. We have eaten in Ample gastronomique and Star-restaurants from Asia-Europe-US.....Haus am Hang' can easily compete and probably overtake many of those establishment on all ratings. A culinary firework! Wine selection impressive! The youngish' owners have already achieved something truly outstanding, yet i am sure their travels of culinary success and legend will keep growing. We enjoyed the service, setting and food so much we came back......and once again been taken on a delicious and palatable voyage. Congratulations to the entire team for creating some very special memorable moments!"
