As well as the pleasant, brightly decorated interior there are tables outside on the...picturesque (largely traffic free) road, and in the garden at the back."

"We were in Turckheim to visit the WWII museum (worth a stop) and looking for a place for lunch. We walked by several whose menus were the same old same old. Found Le Stewala and noted the a more interesting Menu of the day. Found...the lunch to be far beyond our expectations. The prix fixe was beautiful sausages of two styles with red cabbage and noodles. The sausages were delicious and red cabbage was at a whole new level of excellence. The creme Brûlée's were as silky as you could want. Others had a wonderful trout and a dessert of fresh plums cooked in red wine and served with a Speculos ice cream. Would return here in a minute."

"We were staying at Turckheim and wanted a simple and quick dinner after a long day. Staff was very kind and attentive. Meals are all typical and that's the perfect place to get a taste of the local culture. I ate spatzle (type of pasta)....Meals are consistent. The Tarte flambee was also very good."
