"Brown Bag, as a concept, is 10/10 incredible. I wish there were more locations across the country or just more fast casual high quality seafood restaurants.Tons of healthy options (even some keto/diet specific options), seemingly very fresh seafood I always go with the catch of the day and have been consistently impressed. Currently I’m eating a yummy catch of the day greens and grains bowl with garlic and herb sauce ?!I highly recommend getting a sauce (I like garlic and herb but all are good) to put over your bowl, without it I’d say the bowls can be just a tiny bit bland depending on what all you get, with sauce it’s just incredible flavor!Little piece of feedback for the kitchen every once in a while the fish is slightly over cooked/dry. It’s hard to always cook fish perfectly but just a little nudge for improvement.Thanks to all the friendly staff at Brown Bag, y’all rock!"

"I did not like the tortilla wrap of the burrito. The tortilla wrap was hard to chew where the folds were. I've been to other burrito shops in Davis where the entire burrito tortilla wrap is soft, including the crease and fold areas, and it was a pleasure to finish up the burrito wrap at those other restaurants. In contrast, I couldn't even chew the burrito wrap at some parts here. Too tough and chewy at the folds. Inside ingredients rice and chicken were OK. also they don't have lengua or fish here for burritos. One good point is the pico de gallo and chips.. just help yourself to as much as you like."

"Stopped by for the happy hour specials. The sign was a bit misleading. It mentions wine, beer and cocktails. However, the cocktails aren't freshly made and are canned. The food smelled delicious so I would come back to try the food."

"We stopped here late night on our way back from a gig on a weekend late night, with only about an hour before closing, and the lady at the counter gave us amazing customer service. She was happy to tell us what were the best vegetarian items on the menu were, and to steer us away from the items that wouldn 't be 'as good ' in quality at that visit, and explain why. She listened to what we normally enjoyed, and gave us good recommendations. I appreciate it very much when staff are candid about what the kitchen can and can 't do very well at a given time, and she very much helped us get a meal we enjoyed. We shared onion rings and a vegetarian calzone. The onion rings were cooked perfectly, very hot inside and crisp. The calzone was stuffed with cheese, mushrooms, spinach, and onions, and it so large we could only finish half of it between the two of us and we were starving as we hadn 't had a meal since lunch. Even though she was getting ready to close, and no other customers came in while we were there we were encouraged to relax and enjoy our food, and she and her husband chatted with us like we were old friends. It was very welcoming and enjoyable, along with really good food. We don 't usually go that way out of the city, but for that kind of service and good food, we 'd make a special trip!"
