"This Nuba Gastown is the worst place we have ever been. It is nothing like the Nuba Yaletown. We waited 20 mins before finally getting served. Don’t know her name she was friendly, but seemed like a deer caught in headlights. She took our order which was hummus and pita appy, dinner was a Grilled Mixed Mezze for 2 people. Also a bottle of Rose’ which was the bright spot of our dinner. We got all our food before even getting our wine which came 5 mins later. Waitress did a disappearing act after we got our wine. I don’t mind pouring my own wine, but the whole dinner. She finally came by at the end of meal asking how it was, told her a grilled meal means it comes out hot or at least warm. Says I’ll tell someone. You would think a manger would come by and say sorry. Nope. Travis was a waiter serving other tables and realized we were not be looked after. So he took it upon himself to help us out.if anyone reads this and choses to try this place make sure you ask for Travis as I noticed he really looks after his tables. It seemed to us our food was served from a buffet or was leftovers sent from the other Nuba’s which are in high end neighbourhoods. We chose this one because it was close to Queen ElizabethTheater before the play. This is the first bad review I have ever done. I don’t like doing it, but if no one comes too ask or apologies then this is the only way to get point out to NUBA Gastown. ."

"We were excited try this diner because the menu caters to many different dietary needs. Upon arrival we noticed the floors looked like they had never been washed and there were cobwebs in the corners. We ordered a few different menu items. The vegan poutine had zero flavour, thank goodness there was salt on the table. The mac and cheese was no better. Our drink took 10 minutes to get..it was a diet coke. I won't return to the this diner, once was enough for me, plus parking was a challenge here at dinner time."

"We had just landed in Vancouver and happened across this place by accident. So manty great menu options and the food was fabulous (we actually went back for lunch the next day). Went to a different vegan restaurant a few days later and Meet on Main had a much larger variety of options and they had better prices. Highly highly recommended!!!"

"Definitely lived up to the hype... This is the real deal. The dishes I tried were so spot on I got the octopus lamb shoulder And they both where perfectly cooked. the lamb fell off the bone the octopus was not rubbery. Rice ,potatoes vegetables were not lacking in flavour it all tasted good as a whole."

"Was in a bit of a rush as mom and I missed lunch at noon-ish. Wanted something quick and could not sit down for late lunch. Decided on banh-mi sammy and shrimp salad roll. Thought it was quick, can eat on the run, sorta but still would've preferred pho. Anyways, rolled into restaurant ~3:05pm. Pretty full and I bee-lined it to the counter to order take-out. Waited...and waited...and waited...till ~3:40pm.....and 3-4 tables later!! One of which ordered and received the same shrimp salad roll that I ordered. Manager/cashier said that I need to call ahead of time on my next visit if I wanted the roll, as if it was my fault for having to wait as..."it takes time to hand roll". Hmmmmm....maybe need to stay and sit down for food for better service?? Banh-mi was good though = fresh ingredients and bread (but a bit pricey at ~$8) and shrimp salad roll was fresh too but peanut sauce a bit runny for my tastes and lacked the chunkiness from the peanut bits that I enjoy (my subjective I guess). May come back to try the pho....maybe."
