"Food slightly above average, but nothing special. Service below average Location above average...except for the sewer gas odor Our lunch group's first visit for a Friday lunch. Kalypso is in the heart of the original Reston. Outdoor seating under umbrellas. Only three patrons in the 2 hrs we were there. Seated immediately, and immediately moved to get out of a light drizzle. Simple menu with some Greek, Italian and American items. We ordered drinks and food. Drinks came in plastic cups. Food arrived promptly. We ordered a gyro, chicken sandwich, burger, and antipasto salad. Portions average size. Food was ok. Burger overdone. Had to ask for drink refills, then had to ask for ice. The wait staff was not attentive. Throughout lunch, I thought I noticed a sour odor. Another member of the group noticed the same sewer gas odor. He thought it was coming from a manhole cover 5 yes from the outdoor seating area. Today was a low 80's, high humidity day. I can't imagine the smell on a hi 90's day. We joked it was like dining in Paris in the summer when the pissoires are busy. The groups initial rating ranged from 4 to 2. I settled on a 3, but probably won't be going back."
