"We went to lunch with the Ort boys because it's a place that's very close. We ask for the ñoquis with pink sauce from the school menu and although perhaps not very abundant, it is really worth it. the salad is also recommended. Good price"

"Another reviewer said when Don Julio's across the road is full, do not come to La Popular. I disagree. We had delightful attentive service from the waiters, full of chit chat (it helps if you like soccer). And the quality of the food is very good, as good or better than much more expensive and highly rated restaurants. Our group had pizzas and steak; the steak was outstanding and the pizza likewise with generous amounts of mozzarella cheese and plentiful and fresh toppings (including freshly cut pineapple rather than from a tin, and lots of fresh basil). Overall a delightful find."

"First, I'll give you the good: the steak (tira de asado, or short ribs) I ultimately ate was excellent. It was well-seasoned and expertly cooked. And they started the meal off with a delicious, warm, crusty bread. Why, then, am I giving them only three stars? They tried to pull a fast one. When they brought me my steak, it was one huge piece of fat, and terribly undercooked at that (I had ordered it medium well). It was so disgusting that the fat was white and bubbly, as if it had only barely touched the grill. I was incredulous, and only when I sent it back and basically said "Really?" to the waiter, they went back and got me a reasonable steak. I don't know if they try to scam tourists who they think might not know better with the crappy cuts of meat that they'd otherwise throw out or what, but for a restaurant that aspires to be a quality destination in Palermo Hollywood, that was a very questionable thing for them to do. Will I return? Probably not, as there are better choices in Buenos Aires, but it's a shame because the place has potential."
