"I had my mouth set for a real Pizza Hut pizza like I used to snarf on occasion in Ohio. After all, this place is called Pizza Hut because it is affiliated with Pizza Hut, right? I know such a thing exists in its authentic,...tasty, thickcrust, gooey form in Germany because we recently grabbed my one and only previous Pizza Hut pizza on a visit to Hildesheim, and it tasted like the Real McCoy. All the more reason to be gravely disappointed with Pizza Hut Kiel. But first things first. The location couldn't be less conducive to a pleasant experience. Forget trying to have a conversation. It's in the train station, directly opposite the corridor everyone and his brother passes, beer in hand, to visit the public toilets. And within spitting distance is an unenclosed Raucher Lokale smokingpermitted bar, so you can imagine the grey stink that floats into Pizza Hut which is also open to this passageway. Add to this that the restaurant is the first location one passes on the main pedestrian thoroughfare to and from McDonalds and Cinemaxx and you have the recipe for an incredible level of noise and commotion. Okay, now that I have the environment properly depicted, let's move on to the real disappointment the recipe they must have lost for the food. My pizza came out eventually as dry and hard as a rock in the dessert. There wasn't the tiniest trace of tomato sauce on it at all and the toppings must have been left over from last year. Because I was someone's guest, I didn't lodge a complaint which might have potentially embarassed her, but I noticed she was also just pushing her lamelooking pasta dish around on her plate. Service was nonexistent anyway, so the chances of getting someone's attention would have been slim to none. The screaming baby next to me added to the excitement, and as soon as we could get someone's attention and that wasn't soon enough, we left, never to return"
