"The Gutsschenke is so prominent and monastic in the Domain Monrepos that it is not to be feared: surrounded by a spacious riding farm, an attractive golf course, a baroque castle with sea and summer boat rental and a beautiful English park where you can relax all year round. This will probably have the Württembergische Herzoge (naja, with the exception of the golf course). In the garden industry and in the Monrepos Hut, where the former is currently in the winter break and the latter is only bookable for groups, a gastronomically simpler and more productive supply is available. So the Gutsschenke is the first choice for fine food, for smaller celebrations and family dinners. At the beginning of November, a birthday party will bring me to the house (so I can't put a document on invitation). The reservation about “bookatable” seems to have worked without any problems. But first irritations occur in the Entrée. The fact that vaccination certificates must be checked first is fine. But is it Corona and the hygiene concept owed that older ladies are no longer helped out of the coat, which is asked to place his seventh place and not in front of the wardrobe? We stumble the steps into the guest room. It is comfortably furnished: anthracite-colored armchairs and discretely patterned carpet tiles, a somewhat dominant wooden box ceiling, but pleasant lighting and tasteful displays from the castle on the walls. Pretty comrade, even if I liked a little more plush in the ducal environment. The menu offers two four-course menus (one with and one without meat, but the different courses can also be ordered individually. Two different appetizers, one soup, five main dishes, two desserts. A pleasant selection where everyone can find something good. However, the sections prove to be different and saturating. The fine, delicate “Calbsbäckchen” (24 Euro is served with slightly turbid potato puree (a poem! and four rose cabbages (not even a single roast!). As topping crispy sprouts, including a mirror of the beautiful calfsus, with which you can perfectly mix the pure one. The autumn tastes harmonize perfectly – but also for a sweet finish as a counterpart. The “Schwäbischeofenschlupfer” (12 Euro) was wonderfully fluffy in a pick-up and is dressed with a ball of pistachio ice cream, plentiful vanilla sauce, some fresh fruits and chocolate crumbs. The "Arancino" (22 euros, some of which might know about the last Sicily trip, is a rather powerful main course. Under the crusty fried bowl, which is hard to crack here, round grains, saffrons and all-embracing fillings, which could consist of mushrooms or donkeys (so exactly we could not try it out. Puh, be tired! The white wine choir of my tablewoman seems to have become a bit too thin. I have more luck with my "Attempto" by Duke of Württemberg. The Cuvée from Lemberger, Syrah and Spätburgunder is in the oak barrel for one year. Also the coffee ordered at the end is very aromatic, unfortunately almost somewhat bitter, so we need the specially ordered heated and foamed milk to melt completely. Unfortunately, the impressive taste experience was impressed by the bad service. The young maid looks unhappy, plump, without feeling good. At the beginning we think of the first year of teaching, during the course of meal we tend to deny her an internship. The upper part moves more safely. However, I would have suspected that the theatrical use of a completely oversized pepper mill has long been out. Apparently, we are also sitting a little too long so that the service frequency is clearly compressed by the end and we are in any case asked three times to see if there could be anything else. Overall, the performance of the kitchen has absolutely convinced us, but we would like to have some warmth in our personal handling. Only courage – or “Attempto”, as Count Eberhard has called!"

"The hotel part of this Landgasthof gives a worn out impression. Some scary dolls in the hallway gave me an unpleasant feeling. This wouldn't be so bad if the rooms were comfortable, modern and well outfitted. Unfortunately they were not... The room that was booked for me was a single room with a single bed. Very small, very cramped. So I asked for a larger room. The reaction of the lady at the desk was: 'Why?'Anyhow... there was as double room available, which was nice. Furniture in this room looked old and worn, the curtains didn't stop any light at all, the old pillows were scantily filled with styrofoam flakes and were very uncomfortable. I actually placed a towel inside the pillow cover for some comfort. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom. There was not a hook installed for the shower head etc. Breakfast was okay and breakfast staff was actually very friendly.Still I don't recommend this place at all, because the rooms are just too outdated and not comfortable."
