"We arrived after 9pm for a late meal after a long drive. We then waited 20 minutes to be told they would take our order in another 2 minutes. We insisted they at least take our drinks order! The star here is the kitchen as...that was the best pizza and the veg tempura was very well prepared. Or did the service just make the food look good? The shocking service really lets them down. 2 staff, one of whom seemed to be doing more socialising. We had to ask for our table to be wiped as the cutlery was being placed in it. Incredibly bad service lets the chef down"

"Castelnaudary is a pretty little town and must be the cassoulet capital of the world based on the number of restaurants that specialised in it!However today's visit was the half way point for a 6 hour drive from San Sebastian to our frinds's place just north of Lamalou so something light was in order.Pain et Passion as you might guess is a bakery but one with a secret - a large balcony overlooking the mooring basin on the Canal du Midi.The food ranges from baguettes to salads during the day. I had a smoked salmon baguette and Lyn had the niçoise. Both were very generous and tasty. The house rosé finished it off nicely. Good coffee as well.But the location is the real winner. Very peaceful on a sunny autumn day."

"We asked for a table outside and were denied on account of the weather. The tables outside were dry and the menus had not been taken in. The manager was distinctly non accommodating and warned us that we would not find a table outside. It turns out that he was wrong and unpleasant."

"Lovely location by the side of the canal: a covered area with seating a metre or two from the water. We arrived early (so hungry after riding 40 miles) it quickly filled up and was popular with families. Service was good about standard....We were hoping for a little more choice than the mainly meat dish menu: a lady at the Tourisme had told us it was a seafood place."
