"The posh restaurant in the Stoke by Naylands Resort is supposed (and priced) to be fine dining . However, the chicken dish served this evening was more bas cuisine than haute . You really shouldn 't have to fight with a chicken breast or cut away inedible dry bits in order to eat it. But that 's what occurred. Notable that there was not a hint of apology when this was mentioned to the serving staff. Unsatisfactory on several counts. Made for a disappointing evening despite the lovely company..."

"Booked a celebratory meal in the hotel's restaurant. Food was superb and is highly recommended, but the service was abysmal. The lead waitress/ supervisor failed to smile once and was very curt in all her responses. She lacked attentiveness, politeness and any positive traits of a good waitress. She also ruined our planned surprise despite earlier discussions to run things smoothly. I was truly beyond disappointment. Was hoping to opt out of the 12.5% service charge but unfortunately this is fixed. Paid up silently and left knowingly never to return."

"What do you want me to say? this is the best meal we had in a very long time! eating was excellent (the lobster ravioli was for dying, like blue cheese rarbit! the wee was so buttery quality (david moret rully and the service was onpoint and so friendly! thanks to the scutchers team for a fabulous night. highly recommended!"

"Yesterday because of eating and beer there. the offer of Cask-Ales always changes and always has some fantastic beer on. rch hewish mild was excellent and the dancing duck abduction was stunning. there is an excellent vegetarian kitchen choice on the menu and we both chose the spanakopitas. something we never found in another pub. beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. at £7 for a main course, eating is unbeatable worth for real home cooked foods of this quality."
