"Eating in the regular nice, but eating was always better in the restaurant on the buffet that they have stopped doing what is understandable when you are closed because of covid, but it is a crying scandal, and I hope they keep them back or maybe open a buffet style restaurant in the new glasswork so that people actually know that they are there instead of being a takeaway as their home has always been better."

"We visited with friends yesterday (15/5/22) after a trip out to a local beauty spot and had booked in advance. We arrive 30 mins early so sat in the garden with some drinks. We went in at our booked time and had to wait 20...mins for the table. Once seated, we were not asked if we wanted any more drinks and we had to ask a passing waiter to take our food order. The meal arrived in a timely fashion but was not of the best quality and certainly not worth the extortionate prices! The chicken roast was the best of the bunch and was enjoyed by those of us who had it. The lamb roast was fatty and tough, the wagu burger was ‘ok’ (the bacon was described as crispy it was not and the fries were smothered in Parmesan and were basically on a par with McDonald’s fries At £21, this was beyond overpriced!! I would say the biggest rip off of the day however was the kids pizza hot dog and fries. It was a tiny finger roll, one half size hot dog sausage with a bit of cheese and chorizo on and a few ‘McDonalds style’ fries. No side and not enough to fill a child. How much did they charge for this meal that I could have thrown together for 75p? £7.50!!! Absolutely beyond a joke! At no point did the staff ask if we wanted any more drinks and when we complained about the price of the hot dog, the waitress just said ‘well that’s our prices’!! We had every intention of having another bottle of wine and more soft drinks and also desserts (probably another £70) but we were so disgusted by the service and quality (and cost) of the food, we left. £130 for 4 adults and 4 children for 1 course and one drink each! We eat out regularly and are happy to pay for good food and service, but we would not give this business any more of our well earned money and will not return."

"Eating good, as always it was absolutely beautiful. the only part is the decoration, which is in despairing necessity of renovation. When we went to our feet, we stayed on the carpet, I thought it was just me to start with it, but it happened to all of us. it was like in a nightclub in the 80s. it is thread-back near the counter surface, definitiw time for renewal, as this is the first impression of the restaurant. the toilets are also in the need of refurbishment, think they are the same toilets, floorings, as the place opened more than 20 years ago. it is a pity that small things like these affect the experience. for the prices they must seriously consider a new carpet and toilets that are restored."

"We booked a table for food on Christmas Eve months in advance for a birthday celebration. After booking one of our party had to have a serious operation leading to them being on crutches and unable to weight bear on one leg. I called to ask if we could sit on a downstairs table as they were unable to get upstairs, my number was taken and I was promised a call back. After a week of no response I emailed to ask the same question, again no response so after 4 days so I called again. This time I did receive a call back to say we could not sit downstairs to eat as these were walk in eating tables only, I explained the physical disability and was told we could not be accommodated. I did ask what happens when physically disabled people want to book a table and was told “we don’t really get disabled people here”. I feel this is a disgraceful response and am shocked the talbot management could not make a reasonable adjustment to accommodate a disability, and are also not putting a system in place not to discriminate the physically disabled people who want to book a table."

"Fabulous meal! Went for Valentines night and had the Winter Menu we came from Wakefield as we had heard such good things, everything was gorgeous. A beautiful historical venue with a real cosiness and charm! Chloe our waitress couldn't do enough for us and was very attentive all evening. I had the chicken supreme which should have come with Dauphinoise potatoes but it came with roast potatoes instead nobody made me aware that they had run out or had changed them) but they were equally as nice so didn't really bother me! I would highly recommend visiting My partner talked about the beef wellington and monks beer all the way home! We will be returning as we loved it so much, thank you!"

"We came in 21.20 to order our food. We paid £65 for the order. The lady says it will be 40mins wait.... ok we said we come back. we came back 40mins later . Other lady approach us and says another 25mins. Oh ok gurrrl ... we will wait . She told us we can go home and they will deliver to us , but I wasnt keep on that cause it will take even longer so I said we will wait . Another 50mins later our order is still not done! Wtf , are they doing ! Almost 2 hours !!?!?!?!?!"
