"Great friendly staff! The full English was a little pricey but really tasty. The hot chocolate is also one of the best I've ever had. It's very small and quite popular, so getting a table in the afternoon can be difficult. But it's this quaintness and its decor which also add to the overall experience"

"Great menu. all vegan. a bit too many fried options. but great taste. the service was slow out of the kitchen, but that meant that we were not rushed between the curses. reasonable price. worth a visit!"

"Staying in a local hotel, here when it can be reached to foot, was not particularly expected a lot, but was very pleasantly surprised. the food was absolutely delicious. with the pick-up phone has not stopped all night, quite clearly popular among the locals. I would definitely make it good again."

"Eating here is really good. we ate here two days on the truppet. the service is great, with many beautiful touches, e.g. an offer of water for the table and a declaration that the lamb pink come. if they are not a fan of pink lamb like me, then they have the opportunity to ask it a bit better. the peas risotto is beautiful, the lamb risotto is exceptional and the rib eye steak very delicate. like puddings, the Eton Fair is dreaming. this place is worth a visit."

"La perla was a welcome view to lunch, as we went down the narrow staircase along the outside seats along the dimmly illuminated cave that awaited us. a bit dark for a summer day, but romantic. there was a bar at the entrance and then we were led back to tables, which essentially a really nice cellar under the street above. Tapas menu was perfect because there are many choices to choose and enjoy them with a glass wein. hey, when it is on vacation, the day drinks in its finest! we chose the broth basket with many species next to the diving sauce and large, fleshy olives. then came the cured ham, cut with mandels thin, really tasteful. next was a little bit by the side for two and a cup of gazpacho. the gazpacho was cool and fresh, but a bit simple for my taste. I enjoyed the fried quid that came with dabs from aioli and was of great quality. last was the spicy chorizo hotdog with cheese. that was a strange menu item, but my dining room partner had to have it. I tried a bite and thought it would definitely live up the traditional hotdog. the food was delicious, but it was just missing from the service department. our waiter was very attentive, but not even smile. he also had a habit of looking at only my partner when we both addressed him. Apart from a lively bachelor party at the table with us, the place was empty. may I think if they have strengthened the service (and marketing)? they could have served more people at the weekend. yet it was a beautiful meal and romantic environment."

"Beautiful little restaurant within walking distance of the abbey. Quality of the food and service is amazing Michelin star detail and quality without Michelin star prices. Very interesting range on the menu and waiter was happy to discuss our choices and make recommendations according...to our discussion. Décor is lovely. Not a huge number of covers so it feels very personal and intimate. Not a lot of space between tables where we were sat though had to squeeze through to get to my seat with the help of fellow diner who thoughtfully pulled next table away. Saying that, the tables are large enough that you don't actually feel hemmed in or squashed. Jazz trio were on the evening we visited which was a lovely surprise the music was gentle, not too loud and enhanced our visit. Really enjoyed it. Recommend booking in advance."

"This place has has a good selection of various dishes from France which you could watch being prepared (depending on where you're seated) I loved that aspect of this restaurant. The food here is amazing too, with a good selection of wines and french bread while you wait for your food. The waiters were also quite understanding to any requests which is very rare to see these days. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!"

"Nice cozy restaurant with very good service. Good value food with generous portions. Rich tasty flavours in all the dishes we had. Started with sharing squid, spring rolls, ribs. Then I had the chefs special roasted duck with rich gravy. Hubby had green curry. Both...really good. We went early evening so was quiet, but oticed the takeaway/deliveries seem popular and busy. Would definitely return here."

"I had a dinner with my wife at Brasserie Brunel, as I was a guest in the Royal Hotel. The food was incredibly good (seriously, I'm not joking: a straight out of and the staff were so polite and respectful that made us...really feel good during the dinner. My choices were the camembert for starter, then the lamb and a creme brulé for dessert. All were great, but seeing the couple in the other table ordering the Eton Mess made me want to try that too."
