"I don't understand why this place has a rating of only 4.1. it really should be a five. Atmosphere is early American, which is appropriate for this part of Vermont. The service is very good. Both the presentation and the taste of the food is what I would expect at a very expensive big city restaurant but much less expensive. I had the sweet corn and scallop risotto with crispy kale which was just amazing, never had anything like this and I would love to have it on a regular basis. My wife had the lobster roll which was also probably one of the best lobster rolls ever. My daughter had the linguini carbonara which, if not quite as good as the lobster roll and especially the sweet corn and scallop rosado, was excellent."

"A downtown gem that I had yet to experience. It was a quieter weekday night, sat out on the back patio. Service was excellent food and drink were excellent. I'll definitely return and recommend!! "There are many vegan options and the personal are very good over all of them, I have even said that they use a separate frit for vegan items, so there is no crosscontamination! the only disadvantage is that it can be a bit expensive."

"We were a party of four and I was thrilled to taste the first time and the menu looked delicious and so the specialties. we had the whispers I was disappointed in. had a completely different taste in comparison to traditional new england clam chowder and the kartoffels were too big for the bite. had the duck breast, which was a little chewing and hard in the middle and the likes was very watery and not much taste. would have been better than glaze or thicker for more concentrated taste. the kartoffels were a bit dry and also had the ravioli as an appetizer and I felt there was too much pasta and not enough filling. the salmon was well cooked, sauce was excellent and tasty. the side was missing from spices or a sauce. the muscles were well cooked and the taste was excellent. the oysters were in comparison to the size expensive and the sauce had a very pronounced vinegar taste. densified outside and the atmosphere was nice, but a mosquito trap would have been nice, we were often disturbed by the mosquitoes. the meal was not cheap and was not impressed with the whole meal."

"You have a vegan duck on the printed menu, Gespeister Kohl and Butterbean Stew. The staff was very friendly and vegan-awarding. The food was fresh and delicious, and a generous part. They shared that they were parked semi-permanent on the Retreat Farm, and have other crews that cover lands. The greens in the stew were perfectly spiced. It was served with a large piece of avocado, green salad, beans and rice and fresh tomatoes. There is an adjacent tent with picnic tables to eat. I'll definitely visit again when in the area."
