"My goal for the day was to ski from Torgon to Champery, have lunch, and then ski back. This place looked perfect. Everybody else was sitting on the sun terrace, but I burn quickly, so I stepped inside. Wow! It looked up-market! Would the prices be silly? Would the staff be pretentious? Would the food disappoint? No! No! No! Despite the CHF-GBP exchange rate being ridiculous since 2008, it delivered on all counts. The plat du jour was a gorgeous BBQ-style pork rib dish with dauphinois potatoes, three veg and bread. Free water was offered and accepted. The cafe aux lait met this Brit's standards. Just what a hungry/thirsty skier wants."

"I loved the whole idea of having my pavé de boeuf grilled in the chimney in front of me plus I could exchange with the chef directly while he was doing it, which I did appreciate. My wife had the meat fondue, my son the traditional cheese one with white wine in it, two sublime choices too! Also loved the fact that most of the products are of season and supplied locally. The sauce with the fresh chanterelles in it, damn! Service was impeccable too. No need to hail none of the staff members at any time. They did pay attention to us. We 'll be back on our way to Zurich next time!"

"We enjoyed the food very much. The chicken burger I chose was very good and tasted different from other more run of the mill restaurants. My wife had the Buddha bowl and was very happy with the different tastes mixing nicely."
