"This place exceeded our picky expectations, and the waiter provided v good service. Their friendly face and attentiveness added a special touch to our dining experience. It was extremely noisy, however, but that was the only downside. Highly recommended tho!!! Try the chicken satay and the pork dumplings! SO GOOD!"

"Dumpling king has a huge menu. But as the name suggests they specialise in dumplings. Always a solid place to go after work or a few drinks when you're in Hawthorn. Forgo all the fancy chinese dishes and just do dumplings for the best value for money."

"I have been coming here for about three years now, and it has become almost a weekly affair (sometimes more than once per week! because I can never get enough of the food. Every dish I have tried is incredible, and this is pretty much the only good Japanese restaurant in the area (unless you want just plain sushi, which is also good . Always busy, which speaks for itself."

"Went on for a date night with my husband to this beautiful Japanese spot as I read the reviews on Urban Melbourne. Must say the atmosphere n the decor of the place was lovely n had this chic feeling. We sat by the bar had a lovely view of the chiefs preparing the food. We tried the following, Assorted box of sushi, sashimi n Maki Crab salad Meatball truffle Oysters. Must say this was one of the best Japanese food I ever had. The quality of the sushi was exceptional. The team tried their best to cater my dietary requirements n took it very seriously. The only draw back of our evening was the attitude of one of the staff members. The waiter was extremely rude wasn’t talking pleasantly with us with an extreme aggressive attitude which we didn’t appreciate n didn’t expect from such a fine dinning place. Would expect the team members to get proper training on how to deal with customers"

"Went in not expecting much. totally opposite happened. 34 degrees outside. great air con in the restaurant clean surroundings great service by receptionist and the waitress cold cups and ice chilled complementary drink with prawn crackers thai green beef curry was good. but cha kway teow was almost as good as singapore street vendor style. brilliant food service and atmosphere i recommend this to be almost the best chinese malaysian restaurant in gippsland great work"

"A solid 3.5 stars rounded up I would say. Staff were absolute gems, service was wonderful but up until the end when we were ordering desserts and waiting for the Cheque, we were a bit forgotten. Food wise, wouldn’t say it was anything amazing, I loved the scallops, but the beef carpaccio was very lacking, the calamari rings were rather standard, oysters were fresh, but the oyster was rather tough and over cooked, my friend described it as tasting like chewy chicken. We got 3 entree sized pastas on top, I loved the gnocchi, it was honestly to die for and it was such a redeeming dish. The rabbit pasta (special) was a bit too Al dente for my liking but the rabbit was delicious, same goes for the duck risotto, was not a fan of the cook on it but that’s probably down to personal preference. Mains we had a lovely rib eye, already pre plated and split for sharing which was wonderful eye for detail from the chef. Thank you! The veal on the other hand was tender but oh so under seasoned. The salt and pepper shakers were very well utilized with both the veal and the mashed potato. We ended up adding a salad to offer some acidity because it was a HEAVY meal, lots of carbs, lots of protein, but the salad was sufficient to cut through a bit. We got the tiramisu and chocolate pudding at the end to share between 4, it was sufficient, tiramisu was very normal, loved the softness though. But the detail on the chocolate pudding was second to none, the chocolate covered popping rock candies were a delight and and melt in your mouth hot chocolate pudding paired with vanilla ice cream is never a combo you can go wrong with. Overall, for the price point I was expecting a fair bit more as Cecconis isn’t a cheap restaurant. It’s a nice dinner out but expectations weren’t entirely met I’d say."

"The food and service are exemplary, and this has become one of my favourite restaurants in Melbourne. The staff have been very friendly and very accommodating both times I 've been there for dinner. I subtracted a star for the 'atmosphere ' solely because the inside of the restaurant has a lot of hard, flat surfaces, which makes it a little loud when the place is quite full. Other than that, atmosphere is great. I will absolutely be returning sometime soon for some more of their outstanding dishes."
