"Had always been a great restaurant but something drastic has happened. Just ordered our 4 favourite dishes and OMG they were so insipid, lacking flavour, no seasoning and fatty meat. This is far below what we have previously had from these guys….hope you guys get your act together but sorry we won’t know because never again"

"Disgusting, filthy, noisy. Permanent squatters live in the back section with their rubbish scattered all outside their squats. We did not stay after seeing how squalid this place was. The manager should be sacked for theft as she charged us $160 for a night that we did not stay on the 7th of September 2023 because the place was so appalling. We did not touch anything as it was too disgusting. My advice is to stay away and close it down I don’t think the place is legit. Noteworthy details: Pig sty"

"Dinner on a Wednesday night. Busy for a mid week night. Kevin served me, looking after multiple tables yet personable at all times. I ordered the Caprese for starters and the duck Ragu for mains. The buffalo mozzarella was good, ditto the dressing, tomatoes not quite ripe but just out of season and very well presented. Ragu was hearty and generous. Chef Giovanni added a personal touch, explaining wine matching and inspiration for the menu. Nice bloke. Finished with a couple of shots of Amaro, Fernet Branca and an Australian Amaro, both excellent after dinner and on the house! All up a good dinning experience for a authentic southern Italian restaurant in Mackay. That said I've had better in Sydney for less but hey I'm in regional Queensland. Extra star for battling though Covid."

"Ambience 4 star. Service 4 star. Food very poor 2 star. Oysters were tiny and drowning in bacon and salty sauce. Seafood pasta lacking in flavour and tiny amounts of prawn cut into little pieces, same with scallop. Would not go back. Sorry but I believe management should be aware of poor quality under Mantra banner."
