"Have now twice pulled off the M6 and eaten at New Regent when travelling long journey. What a lovely restaurant. It is spotlessly clean (not the latest decor but spotless). The staff are all so friendly. Has a super family run feel. The ‘All you...can eat’ menu is great, the portions they bring are small, just the right size and if you want more you order more and it arrives pronto. Thank you Team New Regent we much prefer to stop off with you than the huge motorway services."

"1. Visit and I'll come back. I had micelli noodles and crispy chicken wings. I was surprised by the choice of the containers for the noodles, but it worked well, kept them hot. the portions are very generous, very enjoyed."

"Had a wonderful evening celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a warm welcome on arrival and escorted to our table with a complimentary glass of champagne. The food and the service was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Defiantly recommend this restaurant whether it's a soecial occasion or just a meal out with friends. Thank you for making it a special evening"

"Have been to on the Rocks lots of times and have always enjoyed the experience. But this time we went with a group of friends. The food was great as usual but we had a miserable waitress, It wasn’t overly busy but she never spoke just dropped the drinks on the end of the table, her colleague helped her bring the food and she was pleasant but our regular waitress never spoke. It was really uncomfortable whenever she came to the table which is a shame."

"The best part of the night was the jokes about how bad the food was in all honesty! Satay chicken was chewy and all the main meals were tasteless, photos of two separate meals which tasted identical (of nothing) I mentioned to a waitress i wasnt happy with my main… her reply was “okay” took my plate and walked off. When it came to paying i went over to the counter and quietly said to the owner i would like to pay please however i have not eaten my main, i did not enjoy it, it wasn’t very nice” he absolutely hit the roof, awful temper on him. He said “you cant do that its not fair”, “you should have chosen something you like” (pad thai noodles with chicken i chose, something i would 100% have liked if i could taste anything) “you are rude horrible lady” he literally announced in front of all his customers that i refused to pay! He got everyones attention and shouted “this lady not pay for food, everyone else pay for food but not her because she didnt like it” IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE RESTAURANT!” Then Continued to shout at me and was extremely angry. Thankfully i managed to hold my own, (when he allowed me to speak, just kept shouting over me) but not everyone would be been able to stand up for themselves, and not everyone would have been able to stay calm and talk calmly still. I suspect if i was a man he wouldnt have tried to argue it. But i’m just a women so he thought he could get away with it? That is how it felt! So what was me trying to discretely discuss my issues turned into the whole place knowing about it. I am 4 months pregnant and honestly it really upset me after it happened. i had to walk out of the restaurant to calm myself down. Making a pregnant women cry… well done! Top marks to the “manager” i Was so upset that he spoke to me like that! I still paid for the rest of mine and my partner’s meals. Which honestly nearly didnt after he spoke to me like that. Never in my life have i experienced an owner/manager of a restaurant arguing with me when i was not happy with the food! I hate complaining at the best of times, no one enjoys it surely. But i refuse to pay for food when i didnt eat it! Unfortunately i am not that rich that i can afford something that i didnt have. Honestly would never step foot in that place again. I dont think anyone who was there to witness it would either. The customers all quite quickly paid up and left after that! I agree with the other bad reviews… who on earth rated them 4 or 5 stars?! "

"We ate here as part of an overnight stay package with Brandon Hall hotel and were extremely happy with both our dinner and breakfast. There was a good selection of starters, mains and desserts and all were faultless in terms of presentation, flavour and value for money. Breakfast was superb with a good selection of cereals, pastries and a very well appointed hot buffet of eggs, sausages, bacon etc... I would definitely recommend eating at the restaurant if you are staying at the hotel or happen to be in the area."
