"Very poor quality food indeed. Very disappointing and unenjoyable experience. And so expensive for what's on offer! The only thing I vaguely enjoyed was the squid. Some of the food was inedible. Nice waitress. But I'm afraid I cannot recommend at all. Avoid. I would...never return. Tasteless, fatty, dry, not fresh, not warm enough; and strange things on offer. Yuk."

"If you want a really good meal, with excellent service. You can't do better than The Harbour Inn Folkestone. This evening for four people we all had a great time, with an excellent meal, served by Sam, our waitress. Sam couldn't do more for us to help with all our needs. Thank you Sam, and the chief for an excellent meal. The owner and his wife of the Inn, has given it such a new look it is a completely different to what it was. Congratulations to you both. The Fletcher party. 20/05/2018."

"What a find! This takeaway shop is just a few minutes walk from the East Cliff area. We had a delicious meal from here recently. It was freshly cooked to order. The portions were generous and very tasty. Normally we have to walk into Folkestone for Chinese food, so this was a happy discovery. The food stayed hot until we arrived home and it was not overdone. We had lovely king prawns, house chow mein, duck and vegetables amongst other things. A new favourite."

"We ate at the hotel on the last night of our night stay, a wonderful way to finish our short break the restaurant is small, but accordingly intimate; the menu is a no-choice course menu (plus coffee petit-fours) but at booking details...are requested of any dietary issues etc. The food was outstanding, and the Romney Marsh lamb rump was as lovely a tasting piece of lamb as we have eaten in many a long while. Good value for food of this quality service was provided by Lisa (who owns the hotel with chef-husband Clinton) and a local young waiter, both of whom were helpful polite provided excellent service. all in all a very enjoyable evening with excellently cooked and extremely tasty food; a definite strong recommendation if in the area remember to pre-book"

"We were given a great table with view of the harbour. Food, cocktails service was all 1st class. We were surprised with a complimentary dessert as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. Would definitely recommend!"

"Having often dined at Earls in the past we booked what we expected was the Sunday carvery for a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday. We were met by only 1 member of staff who was serving meals, serving drinks to diners, manning the bar and clearing the tables. Apparently other staff had not turned up due to a family emergency. Obviously service was extremely slow but give Nina credit she soldiered on in the face of adversity and did a magnificent job, all with a smile on her face whilst being extremely polite. It must have been very difficult for her as other diners got up and left due to the long wait and another group complained constantly and refused to pay the service charge. We waited an hour for drinks and debated whether or not to leave as it was apparent that our meal would be at least another hour. We skipped the starter as we were all hungry by this time. We were told the main was a ‘plated carvery’ not the buffet we expected. When it arrived the food was not very hot and the portions were not very generous. Not one of the 12 diners received Yorkshire puddings! I’m not a big eater but even I still felt hungry. The deserts although limited in choice were very good. The owner arrived to assist with serving the main course but that was all the help he offered the waitress and certainly no apology or explanation to the diners for the very poor service due to inadequate staffing levels. Having seen the owners appearing on Channel 4’s Four in a Bed and their claims of offering excellent facilities and service I can say that we were all distinctly unimpressed with the service and food. The cost of dining here for 9 adults and 3 children was £321 without a service charge! For serving lukewarm food that we waited for 2 hours for I felt they should pay us for the negative dining experience. I would also remove their board outside stating they offer the best carvery in Folkestone. Would we dine here again most definitely not. Possibly if the hotel and restaurant were in new hands and which could be a possibility in the not too distant future for I fail to see how they can stay in business with such poor levels of service and quality of food."

"Probably the best Chinese takeaway in the area but also the most expensive. Cooking is a good standard for a takeaway, and the food is less salty than most. We were disappointed with the Singapore noodles, there’s no bean sprouts or peppers or onions and hardly any prawns and too much curry powder!"

"I use this Chinese take for years, always clean, they prepare their meal fresh when they get the order. they rarely place their prices, they do not fill the meals with cheap filling, i.e. large paprika tweepers. delicate prices with fast service."
